Our experiences using Free All are basically the same, except I've never let it sit the bore for 2 days. I'll have to give that a try. Short term treatment with Free All (i.e. minutes) doesn't do much in my hands by itself (i.e. nothing comes out on just the wet patches), but when combined with a few strokes of the bronze brush...oh boy! I have also had the same experience with Kroil as you. If the Kroil is allowed to soak in overnight, then a few strokes with a bronze brush will get out maybe just a little bit of carbon, but nothing like the Free All treatment does.

Couple comments on the video.

I liked the way he shares the tests and shows the results via a video of the borescope.

On using bronze brushes. [I use Dewey brushes.] I've tested first cleaning a barrel with a brush that I've used at least 5 times to clean a barrel, borescope it, clean it again with a new brush and re borescope. With a Teslong, I couldn't tell the difference.

That’s what I’m using maybe I need to play with the mirror adjustment to get it clearer.

Hopefully you got the rigid one. The flexible one was focusing nightmare for me so it went back. Guessing you know about the adjustment... screwing the mirror in or out a little bit.

I try not to use brass brushes on my match barrels unless I absolutely have to only nylon. I don’t want to take the chance of damaging my throat or crown.

Just like penicillin I discovered this by accident. I shot a NRL22 match on a Sunday soaked the bore with Free All that night and got busy working late Monday and Tuesday finally got around to cleaning my rifle Wednesday night and it cleaned right up in 10 minutes. So then I tried it on my PRS rifle after the next match and it got everything out except for the hard carbon and base layer of copper. It’s been part of my routine ever since.

Fire cracking or alligator skin as you can see in the borescope photos above are actually damage to your barrel and ruff up your bore. If you don’t polish it and smooth it out your barrel will collect more fouling faster.

You really can’t polish it out.
You can shoot the rifle till it coppers up and accuracy goes to the wind. Or get a new barrel.

Correct you cannot get all the cracking out but you can make them smoother so they don’t tear up your bullets and get the last hard carbon out.

I don’t have an after polishing picture but this is my PRS barrel after I’m done regular cleaning just before I use the VFG pellets that Brownells sells that I cover with Iosso bore paste. You will still be able to see the deeper lines after polishing.
