Can't Get Crimping Die Set Up

Can't get the Lee Carbide 44spl/44mag die set up. Can't get the the bullet in far enough for the crimper to touch the bullet. I'm using a Lee Breech die set in my RBCS Rock Crush hand loader.

Back the seating stem out so the crimp part of the die hits the case. Do NOT seat and crimp in same step.

If you watch the Lee handgun single stage handgun seating die setup. I use their method/dies for 38/357 and 44 mag(Desert Eagle) on my RCBS rc, have had no issues, I'm not at 1/2 turn of crimp, more like a 1/4. Plated bullets start to shed plating with too much crimp.

If it's a 3 die set, vs 4 die.
Unscrew the seating stem. Turn the die body in until it touches the casing. Lower the ram.
Add another 1/8-1/4 turn.

Or if you have a factory cartridge. Unscrew the seating stem. Raise the ram with a cartridge on it. Turn die body in untill it touches.

If you have the 4 die set. The bullet seating die will only seat the bullet.
The 4th die does the crimp.

Read the instructions that came with your die set. If you bought them used, the instructions should be available on line.
If you bought the die set used or 'inherited' it, make sure you have the correct die for the cartridge. You might have the wrong die mixed in the set.
