Doc,doc,
is there a chance that stuff it federal 2015? and not 75? how is the rim...it looks like its got and ejector mark at about the 9 o'clock position. some federal brass can be "soft" depending on its origin and service life. just means it will wear out faster that's all. hope this helps, I am sure others will join in.
cheers,
Doc
I looked at a few of them with the micro magnification lens.. yeah.. it so appears to be in fact 15, but i swear, some of the strikes do look an awful lot like a 7 instead of a 1.I think you found your rifle some food...and running that stuff through a bolt gun should give you good service life. IMHO as long as you can keep your brass the "same" you will enjoy consistent performance. Not all brass has to be Lapua....but some brass takes more love to be the "same". FWIW I shoot a lot of LC, But I also use ww and hornady. I also have lapua set aside for the Palma gun too. I think you FC 15 is GTG!
Cheers,
Doc

What load were you or are you using with the brass, if i may ask you sir?Ive been running FC brass for a long time (as well as every other brand) in my ar15s & bolt rigs, no issues with it to date. Most of it has over 25 loadings. I don't anneal.
Federal brass.Looks like 2015 production. Other than the crimped primers it is nice stuff. My best ar loads are with fc 07 brass. My rifles liked it more than lapua brass. I know it sounds weird but could never get it to shoot as well as the fc brass.
Check the water capacity. LC brass is about 54.8 gr of water (weigh with a spent primer in place). I heard that Federal is now making NATO spec brass, basically identical to LC in water capacity. I don't know, but if it's about the same water capacity, it should shoot the same loads. The older Fed GMM brass has a capacity of about 57.2 gr of water, and will obviously get to higher velocities.
Well when i get some more of the brass prepped and have a case that is in the same weight as one of my older prepped LC cases, then i will try that. Thanks for the tip!Check the water capacity. I run w748 behind a 50 &55 g vmax in FC brass as well as the other brandsWhat load were you or are you using with the brass, if i may ask you sir?
Ten-Four.. i will be running a 90 in front of 25grs of RL15.I run w748 behind a 50 &55 g vmax in DC brass as well as the other brands
Yes, i remember that, but this being a "2015" run of civilian contract mil spec brass, i would have to presume that those issues of said 10 or so years ago would not be an issue with this brass..There was a period of time I want to say 10 years or so ago some very bad soft nasty FC 223 was out there. Primers falling out on one moderate book load, factory rounds same issue etc.
