Can Someone Tell Me About This Brass, Please!

My bad; I just automatically went into .308 mode. Oops! My only excuse is that I can only see out of one eye right now, and I didn't see the brass or obviously read the posts. Just stuck on stupid. .223 LC brass would have a water capacity of about 31.0 grains. I don't know anything about Federal .223 brass, so sorry.

Other than the crimped primers it is nice stuff.

Crimped primers don't have to be a disqualifier. If one has a fair quantity, buy a Dillon or RCBS swaging tool (only the new RCBS tool, the old one sucks) and swage out the crimps. One and done. That or send it to a brass prep service and have it done for you and not have to buy the $100 tool.

I get enough LC and FC crimped brass that I've paid for my Dillon Super Swage many times over.

ok.. first batch of rounds loaded for testing with this FC brass. Necks are turned to an OD of .2455 with a loaded round of 0.2465, trimmed to 1.750, weight range of brass is 92.97 down to 92.51 in consecutive order. Charge weights are 24.0, 24.5 and 25.0 no variation to the .02, each is spot on as best i can tell.. Loaded round is 2.055 COAL base to ogive.

Now just waiting for the scope to arrive.

Well tested the pet load yesterday with this brass.. yes it looks like it is wanting to shoot. But if i get two firings out of the brass i will be lucky.. going back today to try a couple of loads above and below the pet load.. Using the brass that i used yesterday.. but i have a feeling that there isn't enough tension on the neck.. may have to play with that with this brass.. i am at a thou right now, but i think that this brass may want just a tad more.

Ok.. i have to fire form a bunch of brass.. what is the best way.. i have a load of 24.9grs of RL15 with formed brass.. thou tension (the weight of the ram arm would seat the bullet) at 300 yards it was holding .25 moa of vertical dispersion.
