Can an AR15 style rifle be used in F-TR matches?

We have had this question before. I am not trying to talk you out of F/TR. But trying to run an AR-15 With custom built bolt guns wont be fun. It will get you started but it wont compete with the F/TR guns most shooters are using. I say give it a try see if you like it but an AR base gun wont cut it. I could bewrong you could be the first to do it

Point taken. I don't have any expectations to actually "compete", just to get my feet wet in doing something other then shooting at the local range.

That's perfect. BRI is off route 288, south of Houston on the way to Freeport and Surfside. Lots of beaches. Or you can cut to Highway 6 and get to Galveston. So, make a weekend of it.
