Very proud of John. 519 day 1, 525 day 2. You may disagree, but after Seymour 2 weeks ago meeting up with TAJ45 and the Marrion JROTC coach a problem with John's Standing came up. He has now grown to 6 foot & his cheek piece is too low, making him bend his head down to aim and shoot. They thought a higher placement on his shoulder would help. John had already qualified for Nationals at Jr Olympics State so after talking about it we changed his standing. I mean you take advice from people in the know right. This is the only tournament he could shoot with the standing change. Our team is over 4 the year, the only range we have access is our barn. So yes he finished in the 30s place wise, but the last 2 years National championship teams were here, & they are impressive. (They come a week early for 2x a day practice prior to the match). So yes I'm very happy with John's match. Still a few mental breaks that make 1 off shot 2-3 off shots, but that also is improving. The new stance is not quite comfortable yet, and a couple times he reverted back, however this match met the goals he set. He had been stuck at the 263-265/300 sporter class in his numbers, hope with the higher stance he will finally go into the 270s/300.
We take the advice of people here seriously. So when Tom took the effort to come watch John shoot then talk to him about his form John listened. That was an incredible thing for him to do & shows what a good guy is like.
That wraps up Camp Perry, heading home in the morning. Thanks guys.
PS the bullet is a coffee mug. His present for continuing to work hard.
