If you haven't accumulated a few years' stock of reloading supplies by now ... well ... then you just haven't been paying attention. I've got about 60-lbs of my favorite powders, about 12,000 primers, and literally thousands of my favorite Berger bullets. Plenty of cases too, some new, some with only a few firings on them. I figured sooner or later that someone would have a stupid-attack and start either a trade war (impacting prices), or a shooting war (impacting availability). I'm insulated from both ... so I'm not losing any sleep over reloading components any time soon.

Why is everyone in a panic again?
Was China making a knock of RL 26? Sure, China produces lead, but so does the USA and at least 3 other countries not expected to be affected by the tariffs.
This is just another thing to worry about…. that doesn’t need worrying about.

The last primary lead smelting operation in the US was shut down several years ago as was any significant mining.
This is an excellent example of the principle of "control what you can control" and don't worry about what you can't control. Good job!
You can control expanding your inventory of components and you should because we live in an unstable geo-political-economic mess. You can't control tariffs, supply chain issues, and wars so don't worry about these things - worrying won't change a thing. If you need a calming agent, you may want to try three fingers of Maker's Mark.

I like to walk around stores, but store pricing has very nearly broken me of that, unless I’m in the area. Yesterday I walked around a Sportsman Warehouse Saw a nice brand new box of 6mm 80VT…. For the princely sum of $58. Got back home and checked BCR, $38…. granted they were marked down from $48, but still.
Seeings how the US gets quite a bit of its oil from Canada and Mexico, and tariffs are going to pop 25% on the raw product, I’d speculate there will be 30-35% at the pump. No reason to drive just to walk around and shop. No reason for stores to stock inventory when no one will buy it.

In the name of the new world order and clean air, our politicians have sold our economy all over the world but they keep getting elected. Here is an example of the idiocy.
I used to work in and out of a steel milled in MD years ago during outages etc. The coke ovens produced a lot of pollutants so the environmental geniuses made them remove it. Well, first it put a lot of folks out of work but they SOLD it to china who took it there and reassembled it and its working now. Last I checked, we all breathe the air on the same ball of rock. Our economy was sold around the world and nothing is made here anymore. The GD powder facility moved to canada, Hercules was sold, dupont had to divest. THIS economy was destroyed right here in this country. The govt pushed for everyone to go to college so nobody works in construction or manufacturing, or farming. Sorry for the rant. I'll stop here

I don't burn 10 pounds a year anymore. I'm set for about 20 years at that rate. I'm 65 years old.
I shoot more ARA factory class rimfire these days. One of these days if I get my around to it I'll take inventory and make some decisions on which type of shooting sport I want to continue in. I learned my lesson back during 44. While he was in office I stumbled upon Tula LRMP's, bought 30,000 of them. Haven't touched them yet. It's like money in the bank.

Seabeeken, I didnt go to college, I worked many odd jobs to make ends meet in the 80's, newly married, started a family, then got into a 30 year career in construction, retired 7 years ago & went to working part time for a farmer buddy! I think I covered ALL THE POINTS YOU TOUCHED ON!
