Definitely, I have a couple factory barrels just for that purpose.
No sense in wasting good barrel life just for that.
Yet with a $100 used custom barrel a guy may just get lucky and also get a nice shooter.
I know a couple of my Krieger 22 BR barrels keep shooting bugholes until there is nearly no rifling left
