bushing size for a .274 nk.

The reamer my `smiths got is a match rem 6br.274nk. and on my last bbl I neck sized only and it worked the neck far too much so I think I`m in the market for a bushing die for sizeing for my new Krieger#17 29"1:8t I just ordered at midway":D" What sizes should I try and do you think I should get a fl or ns? My CZ550 var. is a repeater so I`ll need enough tension to hold the bullet in place and I`ll be shootin 87gr v-max @2.305" mostly and startin to shoot the smk`s & vld`s.

thanks,patchhound.

Patchound,
Dosen`t matter what size the reamer neck is you need to measure your brass and if you arn`t turning necks, which you won`t need to with that reamer, its probably 0.0135" neck wall thickness so Neck size of loaded round will be 0.270" so I would be looking at a 0.265 bushing minimum in a repeater.

It depends more on the thickness of your brass. A .274 neck is a no turn with the brass I have. Most the brass I've seen is been .015 and .0135 thick at the neck. If your brass is .015" thick then use a .270 bushing and if it's .0135" thick then a .268 should work. If you reload a lot you will still need to anneal your brass every 5-10 loads to keep from splitting necks.
