Browning B78 25-06 Reloading Tips

I have a Rem 700 25-06 with a heavy fluted barrel that loves the Berger 115 HVLD's and H4831SC. I get about 30 fps more with the SC than same load of H4831.
My load is 54.3 gr. of H4831SC, Federal 215 primers, Lapua brass. I run Lapua 30-06 brass through a 270 die first, then through a 25-06 die, and turn the necks. Muzzle velocity is 3100 fps. I have zero pressure signs. I would highly advise you to try the Berger 115 HVLD'S. Go to Berger's website and follow their recommendation on testing at various seating depths. Mine shot great in the lands, but even better way off the lands. As always, start low on powder charge weight and work up.

All this being said, I had a Rock Creek barrel, Sporter contour, that reaches pressure way soon and will not shoot the above load. That is very disappointing because I lost a ton of ballistic advantage. When you're retired and stick a bunch of money into a barrel and chamber job that doesn't work out, it sucks.:(
