British Bands Only!

Great thread!!! I always thought it cool how intertwined the British rock groups were with Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, Steve Winwood, Peter Frampton, Jimmy Page, Rod Stewart, Jeff Beck, etc. in different bands together at different times. Great music! Now I’ve got to figure out how to post some videos.

Good choices.
However, The Outsiders who did “Time Won’t Let Me” were from Cleveland, Ohio. Highly underrated band. Great horn work, especially that trumpet scream; one of my all-time favorite songs. It was banned from being played on some prudish radio stations, who believed it alluded to premature ejaculation!? Another bit of trivia: the Outsiders’ lead singer, later with a band called Climax (irony there), had the pop hit “Precious And Few” in the ‘70s.
There was a Brit punk band named The Outsiders in the mid-1970s.

Always love Deep Purple. In high school I had more car stereo than anyone else in school. Would cruise around cranking Highway Star. I like everything Richie Blackmore does. Rainbow and the renaissance rock that he does now with his wife, Candace Night.

I believe that Manfred Mann is from South Africa. I will add in another one of my favorites though. Foghat and members came from other bands prior. Savoy Brown and Mongo Jerry. In the Summertime!

i had the pleasure of meeting and getting to interview Lonesome Dave Preverett when i was in college

As long as someone tried to claim Hendrix as British. Can I bring up another great guitar player that is Canadian, but went to England to get his start? How about Pat Travers.

Since I started this thread I can make exceptions!! NO! You can’t!!

As long as you brought Australia into your British thread. How many remember another group of ausies that used to tour with Ac/dc down under then followed to the states. They were the Angels down under, but when coming here they changed their name to Angel City?
