Bridgeville R&P 1 Day Mid-Range Fullbore Match/Results

Saturday, May 10th will bring a 1 Day Mid-Range Fullbore Match to Bridgeville Rifle and Pistol Club.
The match will consist of 15 shots, pair-fired at 300, 500, and 600 yards, followed by 20 shots String-fired at 600 yards for a total record round count of 65 shots.

For those that don't know -Fullbore is a legitimate course of fire for F-Class shooters -F-T/R and F-Open, so come on out.

Also, ANY rifle shooters will be allowed to shoot out of competition up to range capacity.

Well, that was FUN! Fullbore is one of my favorite match formats (that and Palma), and today was no exception. I hope everyone else had as much fun as I did!

As you know, we had a ridiculously nice day to be out on the range with friends –clear skies, not too hot, not too cold. It doesn’t get better than that.

We had a total of 19 shooters on the line, with a fairly even split of sling shooters and F-Class folks.

I think it was a great time to practice for our local F-Class shooters who will be attending the F-Class Long-Range Fullbore National Matches later this year.

Before I forget, ‘Welcome Back!’ to Rayfield Duffy –he had been missing for a while, out with some injuries, but judging by the grin he was sporting yesterday, he was happy to be on the line again!

We had a few issues with folks shooting on the wrong target, but that is OK, as it forced me to spend some time to figure out how to correct this type of error in case it happens at the Nationals (and any other match, really).

As always, a huge thanks to the folks that help setup and teardown after the match –things went quickly and smoothly. Also, as always, thanks to Nikki and George for stat work, grass cutting, tractor wrangling and everything else that makes our range and matches happen.

Now, on to the results! Results should be correct, (and are attached) and will be posted to the website a bit later. If you see a problem, let me know and I will do my best to sort it out.

On the sling side, that Jon Howell guy took the W, firing a nice 643-28X score with his ‘Mighty’ 223 Palma rifle. Just a bit back was Matt Zagorski, who fired a 640-30X and Joe Fogg, shooting a nice 638-24X (both shooting .308 Palma rifles. Good shooting, Guys!

In F-Open, Dave Kokoszka took the W, with a nice 646-33X. Not sure what he was shooting, but it did the job! Right behind Dave (and I mean right behind), was Mike Eash, who fired a 645-38X, and right behind him was Andy Amber, firing a 643-33X. Nicely done, Gents!

Unfortunately, we only had two F-T/R guys, but Todd Norfleet was top dog, firing a nice 637-20X.

Our next match will be a long-range practice on Friday, May 23rd, followed by a Long-Range Fullbore PLUS match on Saturday, May 24th, and a plain vanilla 33 x 1000 yard match on Sunday, May 25th.

Both of the long range matches are single day aggregate matches, so will NOT qualify for V2 points (for the F-Class guys).
