Great shooting. A note on records, in order for a record to be recognized it has to be at a "Registered" match. Scores shot in an "Approved" matches are not recognized for records. I think from time to time some folks get caught in this and don't realize that their scores aren't eligible for establishing the record. I haven't run one but the biggest difference I see if that there have to be two non-shooting officials at an approved match.
It's the "after" paperwork that can also get screwed up.....with an Approved Tournament, fairly simple Tornament Reporting Card:

For Registered Tournaments there is a lengthy 4 page form required that has to be signed by 2 different Reporting Officals, I tried to find it in PDF but it's not there on the NRA web site. It asks for Names and addresses of all Tournament Officals, about the Conditions of the Range, Pitts, Firing Line, how the Competitors felt about the Range, Commands, Tournament Operation, yadda-yadda-yadda......wish I had a hard copy to scan.

and if you want the info posted in Shooting Sports online:

The bottom line is the Tournament Sponsor and Match Officals who do all the hard work before, during and after are the ones responsable for getting the "possible" National Records reported, after it's in the hands of the NRA it was a crap shoot, but they do seem to be getting better. I have turned in Tournament Reports before only to find out (8 months later) they (NRA) lost them, so I then emailed them the info (I scanned/saved/backed up every score card, SR-1 card, Reporting Form and Match Fee form just because of things like this) and had to stay on them to get them Awarded.
