MN long range State F-class Championship. NATIONAL RECORD

Congratulations to Mike J. for winning the F-open LR championship and matching the national record with a 200-15X at 1000 yards on Saturday, and Also to Mike L. for winning the FTR state LR championship even after a crossfire during the Palma course on Sunday. We had a great F-class turn out with a lot of very good scores.

Congrats to Mike Jones. I pulled the 200-15 in the pits and it was fun. He sure had the Dasher working well this weekend.

It stinks to be beat in the palma match by a guy who crossfired but maybe next year. I ahve a bunch of invisible second place trophies! One of these matches, I will have all the issues worked out.

We had a great bunch of competitors both days.

Don't forget Morgen Dietrich! Back-to-back MN 1000-yard AND Palma champion on the sling side! He is one hard-holding SOB. If you ever want to feel inspired and/or depressed, ask Morgen how many Regional Gold medals he has won in smallbore prone!

This was my 1st time shooting at 1000yds and also being at GRRC. It was alot of fun, learned ALOT and will never forget shooting, absorbing the recoil of the rifle on my shoulder and pushing the rifle back forward on the rest while looking thru the scope just to watch the spotter fly off my target as it was hit by my bullet that I had just fired. AWESOME! Thanks for the great time!

Dasher

200 15X........ Holy shooting Batman

Congratulations to Mike !.!.!
.... and to his 6Dasher, which some under estimate at 1000 F-Class

Congrats to the winners and to the Open shooter who tied the record. Good shooting. The FTR winner cross fired and still won, Damn!......That don't happen often.

Morgen who? Any guy who comments that his wife will be mad that he has to bring home the huge trophies again gets no sympathy from me! ;D

There some great scores posted by many shooters this weekend. It was great to have shooters from WI, North Dakota and Iowa as well as MN. Now, how do we get GRRC to fix up the place?

Congrats to Mike for his F-Open win and record!! He sure set the bar high the first day opening with a 198-200-200!! This crowd gets tougher and tougher every year!! Eric in DL

Congrats to Mike and Mike on the F-class side! This was my first time shooting at GRRC and competing in a palma match. Saturday was fantastic weather wise for a new shooter to shoot a 1000 yard match. Sunday brought me back to reality and made me realize how much I have to learn yet about reading conditions. The best part of any of these matches is hanging out with great people and sharing the great sport we enjoy.

That has to be the highest number of total shooters I have ever witnessed at Gopher. Good for all of us, especially the Fclass side that continues to grow. Some great scores shot on both sides of the range. Stacey Tamulinas broke the MN state Any rifle iron sight record (which I broke last year) 200-14 with a Palma gun!

Weather was really nice and Harris was up to it's subtle "tricky" self.

Many thanks to Mark Rohmann for being match director and to the volunteers that helped run the line, do stats and help running the pits.

A good weekend among friends!

Dasher ;D I hope Erik reads this!

Jim, are you ready to sell your 7mm and go back to your Dasher? ;)

Great shooting by both Mikes!

Does anyone know how bad the wind was blowing? Judging by the scores, it must have been very calm.

Saturday was the best condition I have ever shot a LR match in. Fairly constant winds topping out at 3-4 MPH for most of the day. A little stronger for the team match at the end of the day, but still very manageable.
It was beautiful.

Like Erik (Erud) says, conditions were the best I have seen at the Harris, MN range. Normally, the Gopher Rifle and Revolver Club is known for some very challenging conditions, but not Saturday. The fog lifted and the lightly overcast sky kepts conditions consistent for nearly the entire day.

The Elk River range had nearly identical conditions in June where 2 national records at 600 were tied and a junior record was set.
