brass won`t fit

I just got my 6br back and it is SWEET, big problem I got though is that my gunsmith bought a new reamer and it is tight-.270nk, shoulder blows out .001 and web doesnt change on fired brass. I can`t chamber any of my old fl sized brass but new once fired Lapua brass is ok. I plan to get a Harrel`s fl die and send him a few fired cases, will they size my old brass back to spec too? I need to know how to make this brass work...

I just bought a home so time is very tight right now, movin sucks) I`ve got to shoot five rounds through her this last week and hope to be done breaking in next week...I hope I dont have 400+ useless cases, whats the best thing to do besides tossin the brass???

thanks, patchhound.

What are you using to FL size that old brass? Do you have the FL die screwed down firmly in contact with the shell holder? Is the old brass also Lapua? What was the neck dimension of the chamber the old brass was fired in ? What is the neck dimemsion of your loaded rounds? Is the old brass the same length as the once fired Lapua?

A Small Base Body die from Sinclair will probably do the job for you.

Edited to add: Since you are planning to have the Harrell brothers make you a die, I'd see if that works first. There's a very good chance it will, since the die will be tighter. I typically have the rifle builder ream Wilson die blanks the same time the rifle is built. I also start with fresh new brass for each new chambering.

Since the Harrel die will be be done to match the new chamber, it should set the shoulder back enough and size the body so that the old brass will fit. Like the previous poster, I use new brass on a new chamber...unless the chambers are identical.

I`ll get more new cases once my pocket book catches back up with me... right now I only got 20 new lapua cases and a handfull of norma. It would be good if i got 400+ for the cost of a new die. I guess all I can do is try and see.

My old brass measured .462 at shoulder and .476 at web, .274nk. After sizeing hard it`s .460,.472&.267nk, the new fired case is .460,.4685&.271nk, all lapua brass. Maybee there is hope with a new die for the short range P.D. fodder!

Can`t wait till I got time to mess with the stuff more...
I will shoot in my fist 1000yrd f-class match next month and I only shoot this new bbl 5 times so far. Probibly would be good to get 100 new cases to start with.

Thanks for the help, patchhound.
