Bounty set... :)

I remember Sierra used to put a bounty on world records. I think they would give you some bullets if you broke a record. I always thought that was a cool thing, kind of makes it fun. I want to do something like that. So for 2018 I want to give you a Wheeler LRB stock is you set and hold a new 600 or 1000 yd world record in the IBS or NBRSA. I am not made of money so what that means is if 5 guys break the same record that year, the one who ends up holding it at the end of the year will get a stock. One stock per person.

So Im setting a bounty on all current records, lets see some small groups and scores! ;)

The more the merrier. If my stock was not illegal in F-class Id offer it to them as well. What are you thinking? Borden actions?

I think I will do a staggered give-a-way. If one does something crazy like break Lester’s 600 200-26x -I’d probably do and action.

If it was something not quiet as .... robust, I might do a Cerus stock, Kestros, or something similar

F-class has a lot of low hanging fruit, in my opinion, and like you, I can’t go broke

Not so fast there on "F-Class low hanging fruit". o_O I made that same remark back in 2008-9 when I first took up F-TR. The 29 National records that I amased in less than a short two years in F-TR, truly "low hanging fruit", are now obscured by many an exceptional marksman that would shame me if I were to pick up a F-TR rifle today...all that remains are my paper certificates! :( Of the 34 that I picked up afterwards in F-Open, maybe one or two still appear on the books, because hardly anyone is older than me------Grand Senior records! :( Again, by excellent marksman. So, if you think there is "low hanging fruit" in F-Class, please jump in; but the water is very, very deep.

Dan :)

Alex has a real nice 3" wood laminate that was really well thought out. I have one on a 1000yd BR gun and am extremely pleased......

Regards
Rick

I have a 3" laminate but Mcmillan came out with the Kestros and I like it so much I dont see much point in being in the 3" stock market. BR is moving to wider stocks and f-class has good options ranging from the Kestros (my fav), Cerus, and x-ring. Fiberglass lay up has some big advantages to me. We can play with rigidity and duplicate it much better. We can play with fills which effects vibration damping (have something different coming up for testing soon in the LRB) So for myself glass is the direction I want to go because Mcmillan is awesome with doing anything I ask them to do for experiments and if I find something better we can incorporate it into production immediately and duplicate it every time. Since I like to try and keep making improvements this suits me well. But man, nothings as pretty as a nice piece of wood and wood holds plenty of records as well.
