Bore Solvent and time

Does anyone swab their bore with solvent after a match, leave it in there and clean it out after you get back home?

Reason I ask is no matter what solvent I have used it always takes some time to break down carbon or copper. Just figured if I were to let it sit longer it would reduce the elbow grease as long as it was bore safe.

Currently I’ve been using Eliminator and have been happy with the results.

I patch out with an off set patch too get the ''crud'' out, with Kroil, then patch out the Kroil and apply a good soaking of B/T's C-4, let it sit while I'm packing up, then hit it with a brush, apply more C-4 and drive 5 hrs. home..then some more brushing at home, patch out..add some more C-4..let it sit over night, next day a little more brushing..patch out..borescope..Done.
I don't know what a carbon ring looks like :).

^^^ This, or some version of it. I swab at the range, just before I put the gun in it’s case. Pull the guns out when I get home. Give them all a quick clean then swab with Wipe out and the accelerator. Then they sit until after dinner or the next morning........sometimes.

Most times at the range I run a 2-3 patches of Hoppes/Kroil mixture down the bore right after I'm done shooting the rifle. I case it when it cools, take it home and finish cleaning when I get around to it. In my mind I believe it is easier to clean by doing this way.

I run a Rip cord through the barrel right after shooting at the range to take out the carbon before it hardens up. Then a regular cleaning with Bore tech Eliminator when I get home or the next morning

I bought the Teslong endoscope camera recently after reading about it on these pages. Here's the link:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XDYN296/?tag=accuratescom-20

My other three endo-cameras, one of which is over 15 years old, simply would not give a clear picture of the entire bore, so I was somewhat in the dark about my cleaning methods. The Teslong cleared that problem up in one use. I know exactly what does, and doesn't work with respect to cleaning the bore, removing a carbon ring in the throat, cartridge case fit to the chamber, and other questions I've had over the years. I tossed some of my brand name cleaners after seeing what Ed's Red mixture was capable of, though I still need a copper remover which Ed's will not touch. Now I use a bore mop soaked with Ed's to wet the bore and let it do it's thing for several hours before patching out, then verify it with the camera before putting it away.

One of the things I found was that the bore on my 120 year old Krag looks better than my year old brand name 6br barrel, and it's stainless whereas the Krag is not. Perfect lands and grooves, no fire cracking, makes you wonder what their secret to making barrels was back then.

Interpreting patch color, like reading tea leaves, is no way to go about cleaning a barrel, IMOP. You gotta put eyes on the bore to know what you're doing.

Is that another brand type like a boresnake?

I bought my first 96 oz can of Berrymans Wonder Juice (Chem Dip?) yday. 96 oz...? Hope it will last a while.
