Agreed on Teslong's..For an optical scope, the Hawkeye is hard to beat with it's excellent clarity and ease of focus. However it is expensive and fragile, you bump it on the bench and it's going to cost you $300 to have repaired! The Teslong's are pretty good for what we do with them and you can't knock the value. I have one of each, I break out the Hawkeye if I see something that I want a closer look at, mostly when chambering a barrel.
I have a question: I'm looking at the Teslong, and want to use it to look at my two 20 caliber rifle bores, (unfortunately my 17's are feeling no joy). The mirrors start at .223 caliber, it does not show a mirror usable with a 204 barrel. Does anybody have a Teslong and use a side viewing mirror in a 20 caliber barrel?Had a Lyman for 250 bucks, it quit working after a year, got a Teslong for 50 bucks, M-100 flexible .199 cable, works for everything 20 caliber UP, Digital Quality Pictures
Spend $150 and get the Teslong. They are fairly good quality and won’t break the bank. There are certainly ones that cost 3-4X more that are barely better quality. If you have unlimited funds, but a Hawkeye, otherwise Teslong gets the job done just fine.which is a good bore scope?
i can't speak to what is being shipped now days. but mine from a couple years back was marginally tight in .20. it was not the mirror housing, but the mirror itself. i put a bevel onto the mirror while slightly reducing the diameter using some very fine abrasive paper iirc. mirror packs used to be available so i could source a backup if i ham fisted the job.just have that question, will that unit have a 45 degree mirror to look at the bore side directly that will function on my 20 Caliber bore?
From what many others have said in previous posts, it appears that the mirror may not fit. People seem to be using just the unit without mirror for a direct view. Not as efficient as seeing at 45 degrees, but might still work for you. I have nothing but praise for the Teslong units and have several versions but I don't have any .20-calibers. I do have .17s and they are definitely a 'no-fit'.I'm looking to get the Teslong, probably the WiFi version NGT100W, just have that question, will that unit have a 45 degree mirror to look at the bore side directly that will function on my 20 Caliber bore? The listing shows it only comes with .22 /.243 /.30 /.38 /.40 size mirrors, that means NO on .20?
If someone who has one that could verify, one way or another, that would be great. Thanks!
I'd buy it tonight and have it on the way if I knew the answer was yes.![]()

Great input, thank you. I hadn't thought about taking to look at barrels at shops. Good point, appreciate the input.Your choice depends on a few variables...
I bought 2 from Lyman and both quit working. Definitely won't be buying any more and I recommend to anyone reading this that you steer clear of them.Had a Lyman for 250 bucks,it quit working after a year, got a Teslong for 50 bucks, M-100 flexible .199 cable, works for everything 20 caliber UP, Digital Quality Pictures
