Bore scope videos in the Classified ads?

How long do you think it'll be before everyone is posting bore scope videos in the Classified ads?
I'm kind of surprised that we haven't seen some already...

IMO We are on the verge of creating FUD around what a good shooting barrel normally looks like. Give it a year or 2 and shooters will start to learn that their new, especially new factory, barrels have some horrible looking internals. New scope users will also go through a period of scrubbing the living daylights out of good shooting barrels because their bore scope says they need to. Eventually (hopefully) reality will set in and it will catch on that pretty pictures do not equate to good barrels, or good shooters.

Never thought I would hear a negative word about knowing what a bore looks like . Everyone is free to their interpretation of a bore...pretty pictures, good shooters ?

Do you own a bore scope ?

Yes. Had the Lyman for a couple of years. Currently have both the flex and rigid Teslong. Don't get me wrong, I think it is good to keep an eye on the barrel. However, I have been using them long enough that I have seen barrels that one would think would never hit the far side of a barn but shot ~1/2 MOA. One particular barrel is this factory Savage barrel. Shot lights out until it started grabbing jackets at the crown.

I think the real use is only moderate inspection of bores to see what they look like initially and then use again to see what is wrong when accuracy goes south.

Took a 6.5X284 Savage barrel off that looks just like that on my brand new Teslong. Shot great up to 350 rounds.

I love these threads because I get to use my tag line. "Borescopes and Chronographs should come with psychological disclaimers". Or like the warning labels on cigarette packs, "Use of this product may be hazardous to your "mental" health".
