Blown primer with hunting loads

I am dumb...but can somebody please clue me in on how exactly "moisture" in the chamber causes a primer to end up pierced??????? I've been at this for quite a while now, fired many a rifle in weather that surely had to cause chambers to be anywhere from very slightly moisturized to slap ass soaked and everything in between....I have never pierced, blown or blanked any primers ever due to moisture.

As an aside...
Any moisture present in the chamber will occupy the otherwise 'empty' space that the brass would 'expand' to fill, upon primer detonation...

So, if that 'empty' space isn't 'empty', then the brass has to 'work harder' to displace that moisture & seal off the chamber...

That struggle between expanding brass and moisture will serve to spike pressure. The degree to which pressure spikes, is not equal, since the 'empty space' volume is contingent upon the amount of moisture present...

Same goes for the bullet/ lands. If water gets down the barrel, all of a sudden a 'jumped' bullet acts more like a 'jammed' one. Ie., the 'initial start pressure' to get the bullet on its way down the barrel, is increased. Viola, pressure spike!

That's why, there's no rhyme or reason to when it's gonna happen.

I bought a couple boxes of hunting loads from a well known company and blew a primer. Wrote the company and they told me I had to have moisture in the rifle chamber or barrel. I dry patched before I shot and it has not rained here in weeks?
Sounds like cheap ass primers to me " if it happens again throw them out and roll your own..

Had the same response from CCI regarding a blown case with their 22 MAgnum ammo. They stated I stored the ammo near paint cans which was b.s. as it is in a gun safe. Swore off CCI forever.
you must have the inside of your safe painted with some mighty powerful paint, I don't know what they would say to me if I sent them a picture with 250 lbs. of different gunpowder
10 feet from them, maybe spillage and creepage,,

I've shot and tested three types of CCI two Federal one Winchester and two Remington's 7 1/2 and 6 1/2
The only pierced primer was the Remington 6 1/2
Never had a problem with any CCI
Just me of course

Just gotta ask. How do/does paint/paint cans affect 22WRF ammo? This has the delicate piquant odor of moopoo.

Was it in a 223? Remington 6 1/2 primers are thin and not recommended for some cartridges. Matt
