Bix’n Andy triggers

Anyone had experience with the Bix’n Andy single stage trigger? Compared to the Jewell?

I have 4 of the BIX competition triggers and a bunch of Jewell's. The Bix has a lighter pull but I've also "heard" that there are some reliability issues with the Bix and that there's a lot more in maintenance to keeping one reliable. - I was amazed at the 1 ounce pull and zero "creep" or over-travel in the Bix. - Takes a bit of getting use to, even after using the Jewell BR for years.
Also $385.00 is about double what a Jewell BR costs.

Regards, - Ron -

Do you do any maintenance to your bix?
I only have 1, its been through a few rebarrels, I haven’t done a thing to it. Should I?
My jewells need frequent cleaning to run properly.

So far No, - I was told that cleaning frequently was a requirement. - I just started using them last year.

I have used the Single Stage Tac-Sport Pro in a Surgeon for around 2 years now. I recently changed it out to a 2 stage because reasons.

I haven't had any issues with using it in PRS style matches, and the first two matches I used it in were mud and rain matches...and surprisingly I didn't have any issues.

Bullet-Central also put out a video on how to disassemble and clean the Bix N Andy triggers, which I think is neat because most triggers are not meant to be user-serviceable.

I have had one on order for a couple of months now. Last time I checked, they were predicting October for the new shipment to arrive over at Bullet Central.
I need one for a Tikka. I hope all of the hype I hear is worth it!

I’ve run them for several years and prefer the feel over the Jewels. No problems whatsoever. I have pulled them to clean them at the end of the season. They were perfectly clean inside.

I think people tend to try to find problems with things they either can’t afford or just don’t want to spend the money on.

I would buy a Ferrari if they just got better fuel mileage.

Dave.

Thing is - feel doesn’t win matches - tell me that since you switched over - you started to win matches ! Else it’s just a new fad that does not pan out......

I have shot better since switching. Could be other things besides just the trigger but I will say since I went to Bix’s the rifles just seem to fire the instant I think everything is good to go. Hard to explain, you need to try one.

Hi Dave thanks for your post - this is the kind on information that makes a difference. Tom showed in a different thread how it helped him but only after Alex modified it.

I would like to try one but - having a hard time with the cost to do so. Both Bix and FF triggers a problem when Jewel works so well.

I don’t shoot long range and to be honest I don’t really follow it. With that said, how were you shooting and finishing before the Bix trigger?
In the short range game “they” say to shoot XYZ bullets because Tony Boyer does now. Wonderful, he was winning before XYZ.
I have used Jewells for years and have won my share of matches with them and with no trigger incidents.
This post seems facetious but it isn’t meant to be.

In general, I was finishing in the middle of the pack. Now I’m generally somewhere towards the top. Like I said though, a trigger is only one part of the puzzle and I have changed many things in my quest to become competitive and I still have a long way to go in that endeavor. To be clear, I only posted the photos because I was asked, not to brag. Talk is not only cheap on the internet but often false. Photos don’t usually lie.

I still say if you get one or get a chance to try one on someone’s rifle, you will probably understand what I’ve tried to express about them.

Thanks,
Dave.

I have a Bix on a Rebel action. Different? Yes. Better then Jewel? I can’t tell.

If everything else is right I think you will shoot the same with either trigger set up correctly.

I have the Bix’n Andy competition model on my Eliseo UMRS prone rifle. Awesome piece of engineering. Consistent and always reliable.

I have Jewels, like Jewels, etc.....BUT, I have now, 3 B&A triggers and I’ll share “my” particular reasons, to take or leave as you see fit.
First, all these guys that say they can feel differences in 1.5-2oz. triggers....I tend to doubt it.
They have fewer parts, finished beautifully.
They have zero wound springs which can and have failed/broken at inopportune times.
There is a certain mechanical force required for the trigger bar to drop clear and allow the striker to move forward. Some trigger bars do not drop clear and the striker drags across them. Some, repeat some guns CF/RF suffer from marginal ignition.
German testing has shown the bar in the B&A drops away with 70% less force required.......works for me.

I have purchased 13 B&A triggers for all my SR score rifles. They have a better feel than a Jewell but in all honesty I don't know if I've shot better than with a Jewell. I know plenty of guy's who still shoot Jewell's that would whip my ass because they are better shooter's than I am no matter what trigger they use. I doubt anyone could prove in all honesty that they are a better shooter because they are using a B&A over a Jewell. It's the guy behind the rifle that wins matches, not the trigger he uses.
