Bix’n Andy triggers

I’ve run them for several years and prefer the feel over the Jewels. No problems whatsoever. I have pulled them to clean them at the end of the season. They were perfectly clean inside.

I think people tend to try to find problems with things they either can’t afford or just don’t want to spend the money on.

I would buy a Ferrari if they just got better fuel mileage.

Dave.
If you can afford a Ferrari fuel mileage is the LAST thing you would worry about!! LOL :D

I was told on the Timney Calvin Elite not to go below 6 oz as it may cause trigger follow....when you close the bolt it just rides the trigger home and you get either ND's or partial primer strikes.

Is that what is meant by relaibility issues on the B&A ?

For me anyway, a great trigger is a huge advantage.

Dropping the pull weight below a certain point and having it fire can be a real thing, but it takes are really hard throw. Of the 2 times I did it, the first time I thought it was me throwing the bolt. The second time I knew for sure that I lightly brushed the trigger with my shirt sleeve when coming off the knob.

As for the need to clean all the time, I currently have 3 BNA's (all 2 stage, 1 precision benchrest, 2 tacsport pro). I gave 2 others that I had no issues with to family members. None of them ever 'needed' to be cleaned. I think some guys do the Ronson thing to them and it messes up the trigger. These triggers are meant to be completely lubrication free. BrakeKlean, Contact Cleaner, alcohol, things of that nature. The machined surfaces are so precise that I think anything that may attract a spec of dirt would be felt somewhere.

And if I’m going to invest 4-5K in a rifle, because shooting is my only and favorite hobby, the extra $185 for a Bix is the last thing I’m going to worry about.

Dave.
I agree, to me I take the "cost" out and compare the product then do a cost analysis.

I had a primer blow during a LR match, short story is I ended up locking, unlock, locking bolt and then I could fire the round while using the B-n-A trigger. Finished the match well enough. At home I disassembled rifle (a UMRS), and cleaned trigger with brake cleaner and worked like a champ.

Doesn’t take much with close tolerances to bugger things up. Always keep a can compressed air to try and blast away debris in a pinch.

B-n-A makes a fine product.

Two Jewel triggers here. Dissembled both for cleaning. Very easy to maintain. Blanking a primer may break a jewel trigger but that’s problem with bolt/firing pin combo. Never had a competition issue with either one.

Take plenty of pictures if disassembly is attempted.

I used BNA’s in all my rifles at this years IBS short range Group Nationals, and needless to say they performed very well. I will also say, you need to clean them frequently (follow the video’s on Bullet Central). As for setting a very light trigger pull, be cautious! You touch it, it’s gone (I’ve made too many mistakes that may have cost me possible wins). I had mine set at 1/2 oz. This year, I set them all at 1.0 oz.!

I have won matches with either trigger i prefer the b&a same with muzzle brakes now all my bench rest guns have brakes i like the odds in my favor .the the more you do to not upset the gun the better the odds.
