Bix and Andy comp trigger issue

One other thing and I'll shut up. The B&A is a fairly closed trigger, and that's probably a good thing. But it doesn't lend itself to flushing with lighter fluid very well, where other triggers can many/most times get a good flushing and correct a problem.

That is wrong. For the last couple years they're polished as they come.
FWIW after they are cleaned properly, emphasized properly, the sear engagement should be re set…. Takes 5 minutes.
The last two I bought were not polished/ready to go. One would function somewhat before I took it apart and polished. The other one would not even begin to work out of the package. I don't know how it turned out yet as I mailed it off to the guru to put on a new rifle. I think I've had 8 of the BR version triggers since they've came out with two of them being flawless and the rest needing work. I've worked on another 6 or so during matches trying to keep people going so I kind of know what I'm talking about. I am in agreement on resetting the sear engagement after cleaning which I don't really understand but I do feel it's needed.

I have been using a Bix-n-Andy competition trigger for just over a year now with about 14,000 rounds on it. I screwed it up and it went down on me. I learned from my mistake, I fixed it and have been enjoying it ever since. I sold my Jewell benchrest trigger to get my Bix and wouldn't trade it for 3 Jewell triggers now.

This is my experience and opinion on the Bix-n-Andy competition trigger.

Can you say, my scores have improved with the BnA over a Jewell?

With all these negative reviews of the B&A Benchrest trigger, I will make this offer here, outside the classified section.

I have a new Jewell BR trigger still in its original bag, with instructions I will gladly trade, straight-up, for your new, never-installed B&A BR trigger......Shoot me a PM......The Jewell is not for sale.

Regards
Rick

I'll offer this opinion and then I'm done.

The Jewell trigger now resides in the lofty realm of Gold box Lapua brass. It certainly is/was a very good trigger. But folks, that ship has sailed.

I bought my first BnA trigger after asking BAT why they offered the 0-30 and 10-20 trigger hangers. I was told that QC with the Jewells had gotten so bad that BAT had to offer their customers the ability to adjust the pin fall on their actions to compensate. Never bought another Jewell after hearing that revelation. Good luck to everyone.

Does anyone have an exploded view of the inside of this BnA trigger. Part names and #'s would be helpful for ordering from bullet central

Thank you. I would like to know the official name of all the parts and #'s. Does anybody have any info that would help?

5mm carbide. But you dont have to. When I first figured out the issue I was also replacing the bearings just because. I actually stopped doing that for a couple of years because I was not tracing actual issues to the bearings. Until one day I did. Back to replacing the bearings. The polishing will fix 99% of them.
Ever try Ceramic balls?

Good point.

Yes Sir......my scores improved when I switched from my Jewell to my Bix-n-Andy competition trigger. This was very noticeable when shooting from a bipod and rear bag.

My Jewell did not have a consistent break set at 1 ounce. My Bix-n-Andy has a very consistent break when set below 1 ounce.

What did you trace back to the non-carbide bearings? I did the polish to mine and that did the trick, just curious what to look for regarding bearings.
I too would like to hear more about this.

Thanks!!

Thanks to gkgeiger for the names. I guess with with only 7 parts they don't use item numbers

What would have caused the dark spot? Uneven wear? Don't see anything that hits this spot.
