Bix n Andy trigger weight question

Ok, stock rife guy here. I just had my first custom rifle built. It is a F TR in 308 with a Panda action with a Bix n Andy trigger.

Is 2.7 oz what i should have set on this trigger. WHOW! That's light. I am used to resting my finger on my Savage trigger and taking up the slack. I can learn to use such a light trigger. Just want to know if I am on track with my build?

Trigger pull weight is a personal preference, I will say for me I thought 2 to 3 oz was light with my first bench gun but I got used to it pretty quick, it hovers around the 2oz now..start at 2.7oz or possibly 4 to 5oz, if you don’t get a feel for it wind it up if you do wind it down or keep it there.

Thanks,

As long as I am in the ballpark of what is considered "normal"" trigger weight.

This weekend will be my first day with my new rifle!

You can get a lot lighter than 2.7oz with a B&A trigger. My preference for BR with is shoot with a real light trigger. I don’t touch the trigger until I am ready to fire...more like a very light bump.

I place my thumb on the back of the trigger guard and my index finger on the trigger blade. Doing so, I don't upset the gun when I press the trigger which is set at 2 ounces.

I have a bag to rest my hand on at trigger height. When I'm ready touch the trigger.

On my rimfire I touch trigger with my left hand.

Linko, you should feel the 5039 Anschutz double set trigger I have on my old 1411 Anny. It's set at about 5 grams (roughly 1/6 ounce), unbelievably sweet...... Bob.

You will be fine, I went from a savage to a 1-2oz bix on my first custom build and my hand shook so bad you would have thought I had full blown Parkinson’s and now I can rest my finger on the trigger without it going off.

I am entering a new world in shooting !!!!

Well i think I have removed the gun from the equation. It's all up to me now.

Packed the car tonight and off to the range tomorrow.20180609_101413_resized.jpg
