The last two I bought were not polished/ready to go. One would function somewhat before I took it apart and polished. The other one would not even begin to work out of the package. I don't know how it turned out yet as I mailed it off to the guru to put on a new rifle. I think I've had 8 of the BR version triggers since they've came out with two of them being flawless and the rest needing work. I've worked on another 6 or so during matches trying to keep people going so I kind of know what I'm talking about. I am in agreement on resetting the sear engagement after cleaning which I don't really understand but I do feel it's needed. That is wrong. For the last couple years they're polished as they come.
FWIW after they are cleaned properly, emphasized properly, the sear engagement should be re set…. Takes 5 minutes.
Can you say, my scores have improved with the BnA over a Jewell?I have been using a Bix-n-Andy competition trigger for just over a year now with about 14,000 rounds on it. I screwed it up and it went down on me. I learned from my mistake, I fixed it and have been enjoying it ever since. I sold my Jewell benchrest trigger to get my Bix and wouldn't trade it for 3 Jewell triggers now.
This is my experience and opinion on the Bix-n-Andy competition trigger.
Ever try Ceramic balls?5mm carbide. But you dont have to. When I first figured out the issue I was also replacing the bearings just because. I actually stopped doing that for a couple of years because I was not tracing actual issues to the bearings. Until one day I did. Back to replacing the bearings. The polishing will fix 99% of them.
Good point.I'll offer this opinion and then I'm done.
The Jewell trigger now resides in the lofty realm of Gold box Lapua brass. It certainly is/was a very good trigger. But folks, that ship has sailed.
I bought my first BnA trigger after asking BAT why they offered the 0-30 and 10-20 trigger hangers. I was told that QC with the Jewells had gotten so bad that BAT had to offer their customers the ability to adjust the pin fall on their actions to compensate. Never bought another Jewell after hearing that revelation. Good luck to everyone.
Yes Sir......my scores improved when I switched from my Jewell to my Bix-n-Andy competition trigger. This was very noticeable when shooting from a bipod and rear bag.Can you say, my scores have improved with the BnA over a Jewell?

I too would like to hear more about this. What did you trace back to the non-carbide bearings? I did the polish to mine and that did the trick, just curious what to look for regarding bearings.
If the bearing gets a bad spot on it the lower one wont kick out. It wont just be clicky, it wont go down at all. What did you trace back to the non-carbide bearings? I did the polish to mine and that did the trick, just curious what to look for regarding bearings.
NoEver try Ceramic balls?
