For the experienced bi-pod user, is there something better than the Harris and what is the best brand for the money? I want to swap over to the rail attachment type and have read about Acu-Tac, Atlas, and Mag-Pul. What say you?

Hard to beat a Harris.

If you're out in the field doing PRS/NRL/Tactical things... an Atlas might work better... But as a prone shooter who's always on flat land... I always go back to the harris.

For what money? You can spend $100 and get an ARCA adapter for your Harris and be done or you can spend $300-600 and get something else. What's your price range and use?

I went with GGG and would not go back to a Harris. I loaned it
out to a buddy of mine that used Harris, and I've yet to get it
back !! All's good though. It's in good hands at the PRS match's
and I've been spending more time on a heavy rest at the bench's

I shoot a lot off bipods. Everything other than BR rifles are shot and tuned from bipods. I have gotten excellent accuracy from all of them. But for me the biggest thing was a piece of carpet under the feet. It really helped the recoil from a bench. If your on the ground and loading them, thats different. I dont load them. I do like the Atlas, but on lighter stuff I use the Harris. If your shooting bigger stuff like the 338s or big 30s you need a bipod that will lock up very solid so it wont twist.

Tier 3 make carbon fibre bipods over here they are very nice.my friend who I deer stalk with uses it for this application.very high quality and lightweight.

I use Harris all the time and slightly load load it the only time I don't is when I'm shooting long range crows and rabbits with a rear bag.

I have tried them all and the AccuTac is my favorite. I can't speak for Precision rifle guys requirements.

Ya want the apex of the legs to be as high as possible. That’s hard to explain but on YouTube there’s an Australian, mark and sam after work, that explains more about bipod shooting and geometry than anyone else I’ve seen. I’ve wasted more components figuring out bipod shooting than I care to discuss. It’s not just trigger pinching. But until I’m unable to lay prone I’ll never use another bench. Bipods and consistency are similar to a golf swing, if you don’t do it the same each time you’re going to see it especially at distance.

I have an Atlas with arco rail mount but my KRG stock had the arca type rail, it seems very smooth, it extends to 9 inches, it's my first time with a bipod so I have a learning curve, but once I master the squeeze bag technique it will be fine, it's costly but It is very well made

You said you were swapping over to a rail so assumed you meant ARCA rail as that is what most swap to. It removes the sling stud portion and replaces it with the ARCA mount.

the arca rail will be on the stock then the arca adaptor will go on the bipod, it's a quick way to detach, you slip it on tighten a nut and your off, the arca rail I have on my KRG it bout 10 inches long, so the bipod can be slid up and down the rail for balance or shooting position, or they also have piccy rails also just depends on which way you want to go

I love his bipods, but I haven’t worked out how to incorporate it with my magnetospeed mount that I have on the side of my chassis.

If I work that out I’ll own one of his systems.

Atlas is for sure better. Get one with non-rotating legs. I have mostly had the PSR's, the CAL type is pretty nice too. Stick with the rubber feet.

For field shooting the Ckye-Pod or TBAC work great and are super adjustable.

I switched everything over to ARCA years ago and dont mess with picatinney at all.

Bipod shooting is easy. Get a good rear bag with a proper height for you. Make sure your are comfortable prone and practice! The more comfortable you are the better you will shoot. Friends dont let friends take shooting advice from youtube.

If it were easy you would not have to practice. There’s plenty of good advice from some of the same people on here that are on YouTube. Just like any internet stuff or forum stuff, gotta separate the chaff.

That would depend on the shooter, use and his experience. Still a lot of Harris bipods on match rifles and doing just fine. I have them on mine and have used Harris to make hits to 2500 yards. They keep the rifle plenty stable. I tried Atlas years back. Not a fan. Slow to deply/stow and adjust. Like my Harris much better. Just bought a Ckyepod PRS to try out and really like it so far. Much better than an Atlas. Much easier to adjust and stow legs but they aren't cheap so might not be worth it to some people.
