New Atlas Bi-Pod

I have been looking for a good bi-pod and noticed Atlas has a new one out called a C.A.L.
It’s pic mounted and only cants and locks. The lock is a KMW pod-loc. This one doesn’t pan like the other models. Sounds just what I would like to shoot for groups without the pan movement. Looks like you have to back order it. I e-mailed them and if you backorder it they go ahead and ding your CC just to get you on the list, so I’m still on the fence about it. Just wondering your thoughts on it. Thanks.

I have a Cal Atlas and even with the upgrades, I kinda like my Harris better.
By the way, they aren't selling them till they figure out the cant issue.

Good to know, I just thought it was new and just coming out. They acted like they would go ahead and take my money for it, ha ha!

You may be able to pick one up pretty reasonably over on "typers hide"
I did the free mod they sent me and ended up doing some nylon washers that made it better yet. I bring it as a back up just in case.
Really like the LRA style alot. It's not as fast if your doing PMS style shooting. But, it's way more stable

If you want a really user friendly and ultra lite look up Spartan precision, no springs ,wobble or gimmicks. Spendy but the real deal

Geno has a good point. If you could try a few different brands and styles from buddies or at the range I think that would help. I don't think there is one perfect set up for all scenarios exists! Like I said, Right now, I'm really diggin the LRA type.
Exactly. I use an original atlas bt-10, a 5H, a couple different Harris sizes and types, a Joypod, a Phoenix, and an LRA. They all do a specific job and some are a lot better at things that others are not
