Beware! USPS shipping

It's not UPS policy. Our local 'UPS Store' recognizes they won't take firearms but are willing to pack it for me to take to the UPS Customer Center.
Instead, I just schedule a UPS pick up.

As far as I know, our local UPS Store is fine with gun related but non firearm items.

My private mailbox is a UPS store. they know I'm a shooter and laugh when I get a heavy package with 5000 bullets in it. Barrels also entertain them. --Jerry

I don’t understand the no movement of packages. Issues I have seen are packages going the opposite way they should.
Example, Columbia Missouri to KC Ks, package went to St Louis, then back to Columbia, (2 days) then from Columbia to KC (2 more days) then it went to a hub in Edgerton Ks (another 30 miles out of route) and there it has set for another 4 days, 5 including today.

All of this is hooked up on I-70. I have no idea what the powers to be with the PO have in mind. All of my stuff now goes to this “new” hub which adds anywhere from 4-5 days to the whole time. There is still a hub in KC but I guess they don’t want to use it.

I have had several hold ups at hubs. I have heard theyare not sending a partial load truck or trailer, it doesn’t leave till it’s full.
If so a dispatchers nightmare and a lot of PO’d drivers.

Don’t get me wrong, I have patience. I know how far it is from point A to point B, driven it numerous times in a truck. I could live with 3-4 week days to make the 4-5 hour trip. Two weeks, I am surprised they have not implemented a storage fee!!!

Figure this one out, if you can.
Sent a letter for membership payment on Dec. 15, it had to travel less than 200 miles it took until the end of last week to get there, 23-24 days.
I bought a item from a Japanese seller on Ebay on Jan. 8th, it arrived at my door yesterday Jan. 13th. 5 days half way around the world shipped through Fedex.
Who needs to take lessons from who.

There's at least one forum member here who's worked at the USPS for decades, and he understands the frustration and has hilarious things to say about the PO. I sent him a Flat Rate USPS Priority Mail 'medium' box containing about 22 lbs. of once-fired brass. I think it took 8 days to reach him. (The 2-3 day interval is unrealistic, at best, in this era...)

I'm waiting for a stock from Altus in the Florida panhandle, and we're in central TX. They shipped it Priority Mail on Jan 8. PO tracking said it would be delivered Jan 11. At present, it is supposedly somewhere in Austin, so I'm hoping to see it by next week. Call me an optimist!

Just a heads up for anyone shipping.
Bought a Bipod from a foum member who shipped usps 2 day. Recieved it week and a half later. Shipped a stock out to a forum member on the 2nd. He still hasn't received it! Checked tracking and it's moving at Glacial speed. I called customer service and got the whole Covid line from them. Lesson learned.
You are correct the usps blames everything on COVIRD . The face is they are work for the government. Just my two cents. Tommy Mc

This is 2,000 9mm copper bullets. I've been ordering a lot of things lately... Anything that's USPS and isn't an envelope takes weeks.

I've had 2 tracking list like that in the past couple of weeks. Both packages were on the dinning room table before tracking ever updated.

For now, I'm shipping everything FedEx or UPS.
Shipped two barrels Dec 12 to someone 200 miles away. Tracking for one was updated 12/26 but the other hasn't been updated since 12/11.
The destination post office said that the distribution centers in NJ have mountains of packages backed up waiting to be processed.

Shipped 3 items via UPS last Friday - two arrived this Tuesday, the third yesterday.

This is on their website. I’ll cut them some slack under the current conditions. Two months ago, everything I mailed was on time or a day early.

Everything I've mailed and received for the past week or more has been good. Knock on wood. my guess is there are still a few hubs around the country who have a backlog and causing delays. If your package goes through one of those, it will be delayed. Otherwise, seems normal.

My apologies but the heck with their excuses, I’m out thousands of dollars I’ll likely never recouped and I don’t want to hear excuses. I had yet another box show up today empty with the typical green sticker saying package delivered with no contents. In short it means one of their crooked a employees stole it and sent the package on its way to show delivered as nothing happened. I’m not a violent guy but I felt like punching the postal driver today after she handed me the empty box. I asked him what that meant and he shrugged his shoulders and walked off.

Sorry but generally it means that the shipper did not package adequately. You should not be out anything. the shipper is responsible to deliver you what you bought. If it shows up empty, the shipper is responsible. --jerry.

i just purchased an item off ebay on the 10th of this month
sitting on my doorstep this morning Arizona to New York in 4 days
item weighed about 20 #s shipped via USPS

I hope to get the prize for this.........

Bought a scope from a member here, hpma2009. Sent a MO and he shipped Priority promptly on Dec 3 and sent me tracking info. Tracking showed the package dropped at the PO and expected delivery of the 7th or so. Then nothing until the 18th when it said in transit, but delayed. On the 21st, it showed up at a distribution center 50 or so miles from Johns PO. So it took 18 days to go 50 miles. Then again on the 23rd and the 25th, it again said in transit, will be delayed.

Nothing until yesterday when it showed up in Denver and was on my doorstep today, a full 6 weeks.

Service at its finest!
