Nuts, post# 62
If you mailed it regular mail then its possible that the mail would not be found, next time send via priority mail with a tracking number. no matter what happens. they will be able to find the mail and deliver it to you.
The USPS 'tracking' in real time is a joke. Manys the time Ive had it show the initial mailed from address and then never an update til it reaches its destination. And several times a package that shows a delivery date doesnt arrive and the following day it still hasnt updated. And when it does it gives me a 'no delivery date scheduled' message. I wouldnt trust their tracking with anything.
I guess I assumed that if a package had a tracking number it had the same quaility of tracking regardless. Ive never heard a teller make a distinction between levels of service in regards to tracking.
As a seller I stopped accepting USPS Money Orders. My bank, Bank of America, automatically puts a 12 business day holds on them due to counterfeit issues. Plus I can not deposit them via my smartphone app but have to go to the bank to deposit. All the way around pain in the butt. Always frustrates buyers who assume money orders are "as good as cash" and I should mail as soon as I get a money order. In spite of warning buyers in the past about this, they don't pay attention, not worth the hassle. Now it's only cashiers' checks and personal checks and I do not ship until they clear through into my bank account. No PP for me due to their anti-firearm policies.
Always mail payment with some kind of tracking number.
I sent a large check to a member here via USPS Priority envelope with tracking. They still lost it.
In fact, I just received an email yesterday from USPS that they had canceled the search after six months.
He did receive it after about three months. After I had sent another via regular snail mail of course.
USPS only refunded me about half of what it cost me to stop payment on original check plus the postal fee.
Kinda figure that’s what happened to mine. It was the large, flat priority envelope.I sent a check to someone that he got over a year later with a note that it was found in a supposedly empty bin.
There are some PP users who don't know or understand what PPFF is.
Yeah, Basically send a mail or check without a tracking number is like sending a sheep to the woods and hoping it finds its way back home.Or certified mail which has to be signed for.
