Best Scale for F Class REloading

Hello,

I had already set on my mind that i was going to purchase the Sartorious gd503 scale. I was ready to spend the $1k it costs. However, it turns out that this model has been discontinued. Does anyone know what model replaced this one? Or, what precision scale are using the top F-Class competitors. I have been upgrading my equipment little by little, and I am ready for a competitive scale.

any suggestion?

According to the specs, this is actually a little better than a 503. If I were in the market, it's what I would get.

I just purchased the A&D fxi-120 from Cambridge Environmental and its like $560 Canadian, which the the exchange rate was $1.30 difference at time (last week) and cost me some $440 with check weight

Hard to beat the FX 120i

Too bad cambridge is out of stock. i wonder if we can backorder or if they will be getting more in soon. i missed out on this deal.

You can backorder, I just talked to them and they should have more in this week from Georgia (USA). They also had a bad snow storm, so some products ordered last week haven't gone out yet and incoming shipments have taken longer than normal.

He stated again, "Get the word out to all your reloader buddies April 1, the MFR in Japan is raising their price."

I cannot say its "the best" as I have limited scales that I have used... But the A&D FX120i is very nice for my budget and use. I can weigh to a kernel of Varget. The scale is pretty quick in response time. I have no drifting problems it remains very consistent with my pan removed at -155.38 between weighing charges. During my loading process I will validate known bullets just to verify nothing has moved.

Most importantly...I can see my vertical improvement on paper! I'm very happy with it!

I have one of Scott's scales and yes, they are everything he says they are. Extremely sensitive and will register a single grain of Varget.

That said, I grew weary of using it. I got eyestrain trying to line up the pointer precisely, and I would get a crick in my neck from leaning down to look at it. It worked great, but physically was not a good match for my worn out old body.

I bought an A&D FX-120i that I use now. Not necessarily more accurate, but way easier and faster for me to use.

He sells tuned ones. I bought one from him, it appears to be a NOS Ohaus 10-0-5 that appears to be from around the 1960s. Has the original box, warranty card, and even an ad for a powder trickler for $3.50 and a pair of calipers for $1.95 to give you an idea of how old. But it appeared to have been in the box all that time, all the paint and stuff looks brand new.

Scott said he prefers these older ones because they are built better, then he does his tuneup on them. I paid $225 or so, I believe.

I grabbed a desktop magnifying glass with back-light and set it in front of my beam scale. Also works wonders when inspecting brass.
