Best Rifle Choice?

You Tikka guys are killin’ me ;-).
I skipped over one a couple of years ago, wasn’t the caliber I was looking for.

Tikka will always get my vote. Consistently the most accurate rifles right out of the box and there is never any feeding or magazine issues. They just plain work.
Hello guys and gals new on her so just browsing and came across this so just want to start out with hello to all , was wondering what the hype is on these tikkas , correct me if I am wrong which I am sometimes I thought they are sakos lower line why not go with a Sako over tikka. when I wanted a top quality rifle I always went to Sako for reliability but I see a lot of people building rifles with tikka actions is there a reason people go with tikka over Sako ?

The Tikka uses the same barrel and trigger as Sako and is less expensive, it also shoots just as well as the Sako. Given equal performance for less money most folks will go for the less money item.

drover

I'd buy a Tikka, 24" SS T-3,.. in 6.5 PRC,... in a New York Minute, ahh like,.. YESTERDAY !
But realistically, it might take 2 Years, before we see one !
Thinking of, buying one in 6.5 Creed and reaming it out to, 6.5 SLR , tho ! A close second to, the PRC !
As reported by, drover and stomp 442 and others they ARE, that,.. "good" with very Minimal, prep !
Trigger adjustment ( a YoDave or Ernie, spring ) and a careful, "Break in" / cleaning then load work up !

In response to the original question - .204 CZ or Tikka - I’ll recommend the CZ. I have/have had several 527 CZs, including a .204 Kevlar Varmint that I’m keeping forever; plus the “cousin” of the Tikka T3, a Sako A7 (Coyote Special version) in another chambering. Both are good shooters out of the box and each has its set of fairly minor issues, most of which are easily fixed.
For me, what wins the day for the CZ is the set trigger and steel magazine. And oh, get the Varmint model: not that much heavier or less maneuverable than the pencil-barreled American.
P.S. One possible problem for the Tikka could be customer service. Beretta, which now owns Tikka/Sako has an almost legendary rep for crappy CS.

I love my Tikka T3x varmint in 223. It just plain shoots fantastic right out of the box.
