Best Replacement for H4198 powder?

I have several pounds of IMR-4198 that I bought by accident a few years ago. Has anyone tried it?
I tried it when I installed my first 30br barrel years ago. I was not excited with the new cartridge. I was advised to switch to H, it was like a different rifle. I have switched to LT30 and am happy with it. But, if you have I try it, different barrels have different appetites.

One of our regular IBS score shooters uses it with pretty good success. It hasn't been a hinderance to him. Its long grained and faster than H4198. About 33 grains is all he can use but it works.

I'm going back to N130 this year if my barrels like it. It has been a great powder for me in the past. In addition, VIT has done a much better job for shooters in keeping the availability up and the price down when compared to Hodgdon.

Wanted to bump this. Anyone have other suggestions for a replacement?
Burn rates imply that maybe n130 and LT32 are close. Cfe blk, accurate 2015, 2230. 1680 abit faster. Anyone use any of these

Looking at 458 win mag reduced loads and 4198 is good so far. Have reloader 7 that works ok as well.

You won’t know until you try the powder in your gun. I have been playing with Lt30 lately. I have shot N130 and H4198 in two different barrels. In the first barrel, I got similar results on the target with both powders. They agged .15 or better for 5 shot groups.

In the second barrel, I have shot H4198 and Lt30 so far. Lt30 is slower and not quite as accurate in this barrel. I have just finished working up the Lt30 load and will post the results in the thread I have started soon. I expect it will easily agg under .2 bit I just have not seen it dotting up like the H4198 does in this barrel.

That has largely been my experience too but it does work in some barrels.

For me 1.0 gr additional of Lt 30 gave me same result. 35.7 Lt30 and Barts 112s. First 4 groups all in the zeros.

I use the IMR for score shooting. It takes a little extra when working up the load, seating depth counts along with forgetting about velocity numbers, after all it is accuracy you want not speed.
If I keep my head out of my arse I can generally keep it in the 10 ring, this is for short range score. Actually I shot my first 250 after 10 years using it in my 30BR.
