They make perfect sense,a custom action is not always needed...that money can be spent on things that matter . Like a Remage barrel, stock, trigger ,etc . .Do these actions even make much sense anymore when you can get the cheaper customs in the $850 to $900 range. This adds truing , side bolt release and a fluted bolt.

these look interesting. PTG: Rem 700 actions trued up. Never used one, fwiw. http://pacifictoolandgauge.com/1001-premium-ptg-blueprinted-remington-700-actions

But the one from Budguns. It's a 40x.
That's weird. When I searched their website that never showed up and it wasn't in the list of the variations they sell. Glad it's there now. It doesn't specify left hand is the only thing I can see right off the bat.
Bud's Gun Shop ( on line ).
I've never found anyone to beat Buds on Remington actions. I looked a couple days ago and the SS single shot 40x style was $345 delivered to your dealer. Almost thought about buying another at that price just to have it. The rest of the 700 actions had a good price on them also.
Cash and e-check are the lower cash retail price. Credit card is a higher price.
The SS Single shot although marked as a 700 is the same as a 40XBR action, or any 40x solid floor plate action. LDS
You'll have those fees anytime you buy an action online. Best bet is to find a smoking deal on a 700 rifle new and buy it OTC. Sell off stock and barrel and THATS the best price in town. Are cash and CC the same price? Also the transfer fee usually $25 plus sales tax of about $21 and $25 for a pistol purchase permit for Iowa if you don't have one puts you at $416 all in. If you have the dealer get it for you he usually won't whack you for the transfer fee. In retrospect I guess I did ok for my 2.

Ya, I think your right anymore. Savage yes but not Remingtons.Generally that would be good, but smoking deals on new Rem 700 left hand stainless steel rifles are non-existent. Selling off the unneeded parts is a PITA too.
