Best Pocket Knife

I have been carrying a pocket knife as long as I can remember..last 20 yrs. it has been a CRKT
M16, 3.5 blade w/ serrations, pocket clip and blade safety..cuts thru everything easily..small and safe...Amazon CRKT M16 - 13Z is there latest model...you won't regret purchase.

The best pocket knife is the one you carry every day and don't remember you even have it until you need it and it's there. That for me is a small Swiss army knife (professional) that will do about anything. If I'm out hiking, hunting/fishing or where something more is required then a good locking blade or fixed blade is best.

Another vote for the medium size Swiss Army knife. Small enough to be comfortable in your pocket and very handy. The newer ones still seem to be of decent quality and hold an edge well.

I carry a voyager 4” serrated Cold Steel. Love the steel and they have free sharpening for life. I also have a plain edge both in drop point. The company is great. Also look at the Recon from Cold Steel. They have the sharpest blades around. Watch one of you he videos on how strong the lock mechanism is best in the business.
Good luck

Benchmade rift. I sharpen with a wicked edge that I have overhauled like a chinese lathe. I carry about a month between sharpenings. I sharpen when it pulls while shaving. --Jerry

Forum Boss: A month between sharpenings. Can you explain why my Spyderco is sharp after decades. This seems to confirm my complaint about Benchmades begin dull and not holding an edge -- even when being sent back to the factory.

I quit smoking cigarettes August 1999.
I wasn’t making enough money to add substantially to the gun collection but I could afford buying and collecting knives.
eBay had just started up and you could buy knives cheap cheap.
I now have over 300 knives but still don’t carry a pocket knife.

For one reason or another, I've never felt the need for a pocket knife. Recently, I decided that I'd like to have one. The million dollar question is what pocket knife should I purchase? There's no specific purpose for purchasing one, I've just decided that I'd like to carry an all around pocket knife. I know some people feel undressed without their knife.

In short I'm looking for suggestions as to what brand and style of knife you'd recommend. I have no idea what options are most useful, I don't want something that has 101 different implements; just a knife that will be useful. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

Since you have never had a pocket knife it is fairly obvious that you really don't need one so there is no point in your spending a lot of money on a high-dollar knife. I suggest that you go to a Sportsmans Warehouse, Cabelas, a local sporting good store, or even Ace Hardware, they all usually have a good selection of knives for you to handle and look over. When you find one that "speaks" to you then that is the one to start with, when I say "speaks" to you it is that indescribable feeling that when you pick it up it just feels right in your hand - you will know it when you pick it up.
It is hard to go wrong with what was once called a small Stockman like this -

Or a Case like this one - https://caseknives.com/products/amber-bone-peach-seed-jig-medium-stockman

They are have rounded bolsters and will not wear out your pockets, the three blade combination is capable of doing anything asked of an everyday carry knife, they are inexpensive and just generally useful.

Then if you really catch the knife fever you can go after the speciality high-dollar knifes.
