Best Long Range Coyote .223 Load?

the barka lounger is only about 28 bucks and has a strap to throw over the shoulder (hands free) by the time you buy straps and the hassle i vote for the barka lounger and it is more that sturdy......
Montana ...... everything to do and beauty too......

Coyoteklr---- I'll try that. There is a calling contest around here this weekend so we might try them then. It's not a very big area like you guys out west are used to calling on 1000 plus acres where you can see for miles, this is more like 100 acres and the bad thing about this spot is that you can't see very good from any one spot. Lots of low spots everywhere draws are spread out to where you can't see any two at the same time.
The snow is melting fast here. Coyotes were out sunning yesterday but were "hiding" in the dirt. I had forgotten how hard they are to see without the snow. About the Randy Anderson seat, they are worth every penny they charge for them now. They used to be higher than they are now so I bought 3 other different kinds and all but one broke about the second time out and were a lot more bulky. You can use the seat to carry gear in until you get to your set, it's light and not cumbersome to carry at all. I throw it over head and a shoulder and forget about it till it's time to sit on it. It could use a little more padding in seat area at times but it works very well. Jason

even in small areas you can choose your fight.... set up becomes more crittical....
sun to the back in the shade, cross wind and put the caller up wind 20 to 25 yards and try use barriers to direct the dogs or fox ..... don't be afraid to use howls even loud.... i guarentee it won't scare them away..... everyone is out there squawking but not a lot of howlers in the small areas or heavy timber..... it will make a big difference......especially female invitation.......

Sscoyote those are some nice looking rigs! What twist barrel is your AI now. I have one with a 1 in 9 twist barrel shooting the 75gr Amaxs and its a hammer for me. Can't beat the AI's!

My longest coyote shot was right around 200 yards with a .243, I prefer to get them into rock-throwing range. My neighbor claimed to have shot a coyote at over 700 yards with his .270 (when I asked about the holdover, he said he held right on it) ;)

a 60 grain v amx or a 60 grain balistic tip should stabalize and give you a little more knock down. the .223 is not a 500 yard coyote gun. try shooting some groups at that range. you will see. try some at 200 and 300

HB, mine is also a 9-twist. I had great results with it to ~500-550 with the 69 Nosler Comp. and 65 SGK...under ideal conditions (no wind). I'm probably gonna' go back to the SGK, as it seemed to be the best compromise of external and terminal ballistics to those ranges. I really need to try the 75 A-Max though. Sure has the external ballistics covered--no doubt.

Take a close look at the seat pics i posted--it's the slickest system i've ever seen--super portable, around the waist carry, completely out of the way, and way more comfortable carrying than anything else i've seen for the walking hunter who may put 4 miles into a 1/2 days hunt that needs to carry a seat (me) those kinda' distances. At 4$ a pop clearanced...well...

"the 223 is not a 500 yard coyote gun"
that's what i told my bushmaster 1-8 24" barrel with 6-24 x 50 vortex viper scope shooting 69 grn. smk's today after i read the above post....
the response was "well why didn't you tell me before hand and I wouldn't have even tried..... dang those poor coyotes could have just died of old age" :o
