best die LOCKING ring

i currently use a LEE hand press, i have been using RCBS dies and their lock rings, but they work loose ever few sessions, any suggestions?

Forster work for me. I change the Forster locking screw out for a socket head machine screw.

Again Hornady,... plus they have a really handy aluminum wrench that fits their lock nuts.

It is a split ring design that uses a hex head screw. I don't think you'll get the tool with it.

They work well, but I prefer the steel lock ring from Hornady.

With all due respect, if you're a reloader and you don't have a set of hex keys, you need to buy a set.

I like and use the Hornady lock rings. The supplied screws are junk, though. I change them for some hardened versions. -Al

How tight do you guys tighten the locking ring down?? Do you keep tightening it down until you don't get an movement after a few rounds, or just torque it down and go from there???

Just myself here
However once my Die is set I'll snug the lock ring then back off the Die a touch and re tighten the lock ring.
They don't move much after that.

I do most of my work on coax's, so Forster, but I use Hornady for other press's, love the wrench for them from Sinclair.
Sinclair makes a nice cross bolt ring too, plus a wrench to fit it.

Get yourself a T handle allen wrench to fit the screw, 3/32", you'll thank me later.

If you use two lock rings and tighten them against each other, you'll eliminate that loosening issue. I've gone to Hornaday and use the quarter turn cam-loc system. I can change dies in a few seconds and be confident that the settings have not changed.

As I have a Coaxial Foster Press also, I use the Foster lock rings. They are guaranteed to fit in their press.
