I've got an Alpha Legacy .308 reamer - 92 freebore. I've done 3-4 barrels with that, all have shot really well with the 168-185 grain range at mag length

That freebore would work well with a 150 flat base BR bullet....hint.

I'm more concerned with the optics choice than the caliber choice as the .308 is fine. Man I would think about those optics a little harder LOL

I'm leaning 22GT.. I have barrels.. dies... enough bullets to win a war...

I'm going with the lords Cartridge, 308. I've got a barrel I can shorten from both ends and have what I need, and all the components. I just want a gun I can go shoot, or have someone else shoot for fun. Load up some Gold Medal Match 175 clones and shoot steel. Or let a friend buy factory ammo and go at it.

It'll be in a manners chassis stock, ARC Mausingfield, Bix Tac Pro Sport X, scope TBD. Might do something cool like a 10x with an offset red dot... or... I've always wanted an acog...

Switch barrel, seeing how you can do it easily enough. Twice as much fun.

Well, it's left handed, so most people wont get too attached.

Lots of options that will work but bbl length is less critical on the small case to bore ratio cartridges, like a 30BR. Small case, large bore= very efficient and can utilize fast powders that get the same work done in less time, err bbl length. Sounds like a fun little project whatever you do. Enjoy and let us know how it works out.

I have R700 .308 with 16”+ barrel. I had it shortened & put into a XLR Element with a collapsible M4 stock for proper eye relief on the thermal. It pushes Sierra 110s a little over 3,030 with H335. Suppressed, of course. Lots of fun feral hog hunting off a tripod. Mild recoil so quick follow up shots and easy to see the action. I think you’re gonna like it.
