OP probably has a fascination with the Rem Model 7.I’m curious about you reason for the short barrel length.

Of the cartridges you list, the 308 is like hitting the Easy Button.
Get the throat dimensions/freebore correct for the range of bullet lengths you'll use and then it's just rinse and repeat.-Al
That freebore would work well with a 150 flat base BR bullet....hint.I've got an Alpha Legacy .308 reamer - 92 freebore. I've done 3-4 barrels with that, all have shot really well with the 168-185 grain range at mag length
I'm leaning 22GT.. I have barrels.. dies... enough bullets to win a war...
I'm going with the lords Cartridge, 308. I've got a barrel I can shorten from both ends and have what I need, and all the components. I just want a gun I can go shoot, or have someone else shoot for fun. Load up some Gold Medal Match 175 clones and shoot steel. Or let a friend buy factory ammo and go at it.
It'll be in a manners chassis stock, ARC Mausingfield, Bix Tac Pro Sport X, scope TBD. Might do something cool like a 10x with an offset red dot... or... I've always wanted an acog...
Well, it's left handed, so most people wont get too attached.I don't think any of your friends will feel cheated being able to shoot that!![]()
