Best Bargain ever

What is the best bargain you've ever seen, or "stolen" yourself on any of these many firearms sites?
About 2 years ago I saw a Kleingunther K-22... excellent condition.... on Rimfire Central for $599.00. It lasted for about 3 seconds. Got pictures?

The few times that I saw something I wanted that was way under valued I either shied away or I let the seller know that their price was under the current value.
Usually the price is at the other end of the spectrum, and they are pricing for gold when it is really iron. Again I shy away.

I bought a 30-378 wea Sako TRGS rifle from CDNN for $499. It was never fired as a 30-378, it went straight to the gunsmith and go a rock creek barrel in 338 lap mag. I only bought the one rifle , I should have bought them all.

I'd say that my 1971 vintage Python that I got for $600 was a pretty good deal... (and I did tell the seller that it was way underpriced and gave him the websites I had gotten present day pricing from...) Jim

Theoben SLR98 (wish I still had it). Came up at $699 used and I bought it. About 10 people chimed in right behind me. Luckily the seller was a gentleman and kept his word as I assume many tried to offer more after I responded.

I think the best "Bang For My Buck" I have found around here is the FREE flow of information from and between people that know a whole lot more than me. I can't imagine how much money I have saved by learning from those that went before me doing the "Heavy Lifting" and freely sharing their gained knowledge..........And I DID get one heck of a deal on an RFD press a few years back that is used all the time and much appreciated.

Regards
Rick

I got just over 1000 pieces of 204R 1x brass for $20 earlier this year. Guy said he had a "bunch" of it and he decided he was not going to re-load, so he wanted rid of it, just send him some $$ for postage. I sent him $20 thinking I would get a small box with a couple hundred pieces which was fair IMO. I sent that much just to compensate him a little bit for his time/effort to box up & mail a couple hundred pieces of brass. Mail person dropped off one of those medium size priority boxes packed full. Postage said just under $16 for the box, so....

The best bargain I can remember was a colt woodsman 4" sport model in the earlier days of the internet and I was buying a lot of stuff, This was on auction arms. The guy had the worst picture you could imagine but in the text he went on about how nice it was. He was also new but in those days you had a lot more new guys than now. It turned out to be as near perfect as a used gun gets and I got it for I think $275. I sold it to a true woodsman lover 3-4 years ago for $775 and some junky silver plated pans that I got $30 out of in my mom's antiuqe shop

When did you buy it? I bought a 6" nickel Python in the early 80s for $450.00. Sold it for $600.00 a couple years later and thought I was a genius. One just sold on Gunbroker for over $6000.00.

Ha,
I bought a Blue Colt Python with 6 1/2” barrel in 1965, they came with the 6 1/2’ barrel back then for $165.00 at the Garden City, Michigan Gun Shop on Ford Road. I had just gotten out of the US Army and had sold my Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 Mag in Louisiana rather than bring it home. The shop had the Python and a S&W Trooper. My brother was with me and he got the Trooper for $118.00 because the Python was $136.00 and that’s “Too Damn Much”. I shot the python very little and gave it to my grandson Last year and told him don’t sell it for less than $5000.00. So, all around I thought that was a good deal for me and for my grand son.

While not from the classifieds here, when our state switched over from muzzleloaders to allow some breachloading rifles for primitive weapons season. In the following few years people couldn't give muzzleloaders away and I picked up a bunch of screamin deals on TC Encores.

I've been there w/Pythons too but I didn't make as much on them. I have honestly had 5-6 of them but they were all 4". The last one I had I gave $500 for and it was the older one w/(I don't know how else to describe it) smaller w/more checkering and no speedloader provision and it was in the serial # matching woodgrain two piece box. Sold it to a gal that was replacing one her husband had when they got married--$800 and I thought I was getting above top dollar!
