Best 223 AR loads for accuracy 100-300 yds 7.7 twist

Hello,

I am building a new rifle for PD shooting ( my "sport"), and I have a good load for other AR's w/ 50 g V maxes.

I want to find out just how accurate this rifle can be with other, better (fast twist) heavier bullets. Need not be varmint types.

I'll be using a scope. bbl fluted HB 22" Krieger 7.7 twist. Any classic, proven accuracy loads that I should try with 60-75g bullets?

I have RL 15, H322, H335, Varget, Benchmark, VV133 VV135 on hand. Glad to try & learn of other powders...

Thanks for any info! out to 600 yds is OK too :)

It is a rather large file and I do not have the ability to post it. I have sent it to several folks who have responded by email. Anyone who is interested can send me an email at chkunz@bellsouth.net and I will send them an electronic copy. Best wishes, Clyde.
An amazing, generous + useful compilation of very .223 load data well presented. Thanks again.

The accuracy load right out of the Sierra book has always worked great for all of my gas guns.

Viht N-140 24.2 grains
Sierra 77 grain SMK
Lake City brass
CCI primer

223 - probably the most basic load ever, right? but, there are many great shooters "here" who live & own their loads.
I will get VV N140. CCI & LC all good.

thanks, sir.

If your just shooting prairie dogs try 23 - 24 gr H322 with a decent 55 grain bullet. These loads shoot in my 9 twist barrels almost as well as my 12 twist barrels.

That is a great point! I have learned to start with the Sierra accuracy load as my base line.

Sounds good. I have found that the twist stabilize"rules" are pretty flexible also. 1/12 spins a 60g Berger well also.
Sierra 55g Blitz is a great bullet also.
