I got the 105 hybrids from Bruno's Shhoting supply. I only bought 100 to try.

What cartridge are you testing the hybrids in?

I just picked some 105 hybrids up as well and am looking to test in my 243 SLR.

Have been shooting the 115 DTACs with good results but maybe the new 105H will be better.

Please post your findings as I will be interested to follow the results.

The hybrids didn't do to well this weekend, but with the bad conditions nothing else did to good also. I did find they are more sensitive to tail or head winds than the DTAC's, but i did get a 5" group with them. For the day i would say it's worth an other look.......jim

The other thing It's a dasher, the bullets were trimmed and pointed and sorted +- .0005 and jumped .016, .001 nt. for 1/2 neck,33.3 gr. RL-15 and a 450 primer. Shot out of a Brux @29" and a brake. panda and a Kelbly 1m and NF 42.

Has anyone experimented with seating depth in the Dasher with these 105s? I know they are depth insensitive, but do they work better at some depths??

I tried any where from.010 in to .020 jumped, they shot the best at .016 and .020 but that was all the time i had. Didn't have time to try a lot of different powder or different weights but i will. the best groups @ 100 were around .200 or a little less .For me the 115's shoot smaller but i didn't have the time to give the 105's a fair chance. I'm shooting them out of my 7.8 barrels,that may be a little to fast of a twist,i have a 8 twist on the way,so i can give them a fair chance. The 105's did shoot 3 min. flatter than the 115's @ 1K.......jim

Nobody makes a bullet that is depth insensitive.

Nobody makes a bullet that is depth insensitive.

While that is true, the whole concept of Bergers Hybrid design is that they are less sensitive to seating depth than traditional secant designs. However, "less sensitive" does not equal insensitive...

you know!!,,,,In my uneducated hillbilly way of thinkin the powder/primer combo has more to do with jump/jam sine wave burn rate etc.....it seems to me that "some" powders, and slower powders , like more bullet movement before the pressure spike....esp with heavy for cal. bullets....Roger

I think the barrel will tell the story what it likes. I just don't understand why i can never get 105's to shoot as good as the DTAC's in 1 Krieger 2 Bartliens and 2 Brux. It seems everybody else can,i wear them out trying and end up going back to the 115's. All the different barrels shoot the same load in the ones @100,same seating depth,neck tension,powder and weight and primer. Barrel lengths vary from 27-30" some have brakes some don't,LV. and HV. it doesn't matter..........jim

Maybe the 105s don't like the faster 7.8" twist. Anyone having success with the 105s in the faster twist barrels?

Ed, I have a Kreiger HV. 1-8 to get ready for a test and we will see..........jim

I checked samples from 2 lots and there was a dimensional difference between them, so I had to choose which one to start with. One lot measured .2431" but had a longer jacket length of 1.266" the other lot had a diameter of .2433" and a shorter jacket of 1.240. I started with the longer bullet, as this diameter matches some of my best bullets (Spencer and Clinch River) and will also get 1 box of the shorter to try in a new 8.3" twist barrel.

Anyone have any conclusions from testing the hybrids? I have not been able to test any yet. Have had success with Sierra 107s and Berger 105 VLDs target in BRX 1-8 PacNor, 31"
