Berger 155.5gr fullbore

Anybody shooting these? If so what powder/load/results? I've been thinking about trying them out at 600yds. The 2 powders I have available are Varget and MR2000pro. Looking for a starting point.

Forgot to mention this is a .308

Also, what does the fullbore designation mean?

Its related to european competition I believe but I am sure someone will prove me wrong. 42.0 up to 47 grains and at 47 it will be a compressed load.Approach the highest load with caution as top loads dont work in all rifles.

My Palma rifle (Krieger 1-12tw med. Palma bbl) shoots the 155.5s pretty darned good with Varget & F210s, but since the Sierra #2156 shoots nearly as well, and the Bergers cost more, I shoot the #2156 at 800 & 900, reserving the 155.5s for use at 1000. Compare them in your rifle at 600 - if the Sierra's accuracy is as good as the Bergers, there won't be much difference in wind drift between the two at 600.

in Fullbore competitions (and many Palma competitions), the .308 bullet used must weigh less than 156 grns. Hence, the production of the Berger 155.5 Fullbore bullets. Obviously, 155's would be street legal as well, but not a 168.

I use the Berger 155.5's with 46 or 46.5 Varget.

I shoot both 2156 Sierras and the 155.5 Bergers , can't tell them apart both are loaded with 45.5 grains of Varget. Unlike the US we are not permitted to use any powder which is not approved for competition by our NRA, which restricts us to 2208 ( Varget )
or 2209 ( H4350 ). Also we are not permitted to use any .30 cal projectile , as stated above 156 grains is max.
Club shoots I use the 155 Nosler CC's for the short ranges 300/400/500/600 yards and switch to the Bergers for the longs 800/900/1000 yards.
I have 2 sets of Centra rear sights , 1 set is zeroed for the short ranges and used with the Noslers as there is approximately 4 minutes difference in elevation between the Noslers and Bergers.
At Open Prize Meetings I use exclusively the Bergers , cost is not an issue , as what price does one place on points.
BTW , the 155 Berger Hybrids go well to and I have not had any issues with seating depth.
My current barrel is a Schneider 28" 1:12.

Hope that helps

regards
Mike.

Before I switched to the 185 jug, I shot 46.6 of Varget in lapua brass, 2975 fpps with an low ES(can't remember exactly). Managed me a 198-11 at 1K with irons last year. Barrel was a Bartelin 1-12 30' with the 2011 palma reamer throated out .2(OAL to touch lands was 2.940)
