Bench top mounted Priming tool

I looked in the archives for recent threads on a bench top mounted Priming tool. I'm looking for good one, any suggestions and information on them are appreciated. These old concrete finishing hands are starting to get a little to much arthritis for hand priming.

Here is the one I just purchased. Has a very good rating. There was a great report by one of our members here. Each click of the micro adjustment is equal to 0.002". With the micro adjustment your are ensured that each primer is seated at exactly the same depth for consistency. It is one primer at a time. I have only just started using it. But the feel is amazing through the handle.

I have an inexpensive Lee bench primer and it has a decent amount of feel.

The primer trays are cheap so I have trays for every primer type I load. That means less handling of primers when I switch from one type to another.

I'm sure the expensive stuff is nicer but I doubt my Lee is going to be the limiting factor for my reloading.

Rcbs has worked for me for about 50 yrs.

I agree with Steve. For a bench top primer tool, it’s hard to beat the RCBS. If you want to take it a step farther, check out Darrell Holland’s Perfect Primer Seater on his web site. It takes precision primer seating to new level by upgrading the already good RCBS unit.—Jim

I have both an RCBS and a Forster. I like the RCBS better in every way and it has a bit more leverage.

When I say good, I'm not referring to the best.... I have noticed that the RCBS is a well liked bench top priming tool around here. I also believe I will not be shooting for another 50 years so if purchased, I could hand it down or give it to a new reloaded. More suggestions are welcomed. I will be checking out the ones you all have mentioned.

Nice looking tool but do you have to drop in each primer individually or does it have a feed tube of some sort?

Unfortunately it is one at a time. I looked at precision primers that fed but they are out of my price range.

I really liked the primer on top of the Forster Co-ax, but it is very slow.

I now use the Lee bench top primer. However... I must warn you, it does jam once in a while, but it is very easy to use.

Another vote for RCBS. After using one in a gun shop/range, it was hard to go back to a hand primer. Although I still use them for small batches and load development.

Found a very nice used one at a gunshow (a rare thing now days.... a deal at a gunshow that is) for $30. Missing a couple parts. Called up RCBS, and I was going to order the parts. They asked what I needed, said ok, I said how much, their reply, nothing, we will just send them out! A few days later had a complete benchtop primer with small and large primer parts. Can't beat that!

The nice thing about RCBS is that they are one of the best in customer support!

My Bald Eagle works Great ! Just need Redding Shell holders.

I have both the RCBS with the Holland option and the Bald Eagle. They are both nice but, I like the BE much better. The BE is a single primer machine. However, you can pretty quickly establish a routine that is pretty darn quick. On the BE as you are priming the handle "clicks" and releases as you reach your set depth. Think of what a torque wrench does when it reaches set poundage and you'll get what I'm trying to say. The RCBS with the Holland option is no slouch itself but, the Bald Eagle is(to me) easier to use. Guess I'm kinda partial to the BE as I have 2 of them!!

I agree with steve and toothman. My RCBS has served me well for many years. If you require additional precision, Hollands "Perfect Seater" would be a nice upgrade.
