I've used kiwi clear shoe polish and JB Weld in the past, works fine. I put a couple rounds of the shoe polish on with the buffing inbetween to make sure I had good coverage, and also taped off the recoil lug with blue painters tape with shoe polish over it, worked good.I’ve always used kiwi shoe polish and Devon.
I’m gonna try jb weld for bedding.
Kiwi still work?
I’ve thought about using eesox.
What do you like for jb weld?
Thx.
Google says that wax can build up layers. You cannot put two coats of wax on anything. It is an evaporative finish, it doesn't build up. The solvents in the second coat dissolve the first, and they become one.
I have used Johnsons floor wax for years with good results. Lately have been using CRC Lecithin Mold Release with good results also.
Went to look for a link to it and it appears to be discontinued. Still available on Amazon.
Dig a little deeper...! Paste wax has a solvent carrier. It evaporates and leaves wax. The next application, whether 20 minutes or twenty years, the solvent in the new softens the old. That is just the way it is!Google says that wax can build up layers.![]()
I googled shoe polish, as that is what I stated I used as do others. Never used the "wax".Dig a little deeper...! Paste wax has a solvent carrier. It evaporates and leaves wax. I googled it and it seems some wax can build up. Ear wax!!
Like @ChristianSilver said, the wax we used worked great as a release agent with JB Weld.I’ve always used kiwi shoe polish and Devon.

Shoe polish/Paste wax pretty much all the same. Give them a whiff. They all have some sort of volatile solvent as a carrier.I googled shoe polish, as that is what I stated I used as do others. Never used the "wax".
