Ditto on the Kiwi Neutral. I use about the same procedure as you.I’ve used neutral Kiwi with very good success. I let it dry a bit, and applied a second coat in the same manner. That way I didn’t miss spots. I would think that other colors of Kiwi shoe polish just contain pigment.
I would stay away from any release agent that contains silicone for fear that it will get on the stock etc, making finishing other parts an issue. I’m thinking no car waxes. Just hypothetical though.
Other members have done 10x as many bedding jobs than I have though, so take my comments with that in mind.
Best of luck, Peter.

im gonna look for some of that spray on mold release and give er a try. thanks alUsing anything that contains silicone isn't advisable. Ditto anything that contains oils. Non pigmented waxes are good ones. My favorite release agent is mold release agent (like Part All #2). -Al
It's the good stuff.Best release agent that i have found so far.

Yeah but it's the new "Marbled Bedding" It's all the rage! The problem with the colored shoe polish is that the color will bleed into the bedding material.
Guess how I found out.
