Using kiwi neutral shoe polish for bedding release agent? Edit—- black kiwii worked good - that tin will last me quite awhile

I’ve used neutral Kiwi with very good success. I let it dry a bit, and applied a second coat in the same manner. That way I didn’t miss spots. I would think that other colors of Kiwi shoe polish just contain pigment.
I would stay away from any release agent that contains silicone for fear that it will get on the stock etc, making finishing other parts an issue. I’m thinking no car waxes. Just hypothetical though.
Other members have done 10x as many bedding jobs than I have though, so take my comments with that in mind.

Best of luck, Peter.

Ditto on the Kiwi Neutral. I use about the same procedure as you.

i tried car wax last time and that was the hardest i ever had a stock release from the bedding- wont do that again. —. neutral kiwi has always released decently. im gonna try black kiwi on a little spot and see what happens. thanks

Using anything that contains silicone isn't advisable. Ditto anything that contains oils. Non pigmented waxes are good ones. My favorite release agent is mold release agent (like Part All #2). -Al
im gonna look for some of that spray on mold release and give er a try. thanks al
