bedding hogue overmolded stock

my son has a 700sa with hogue stock!for sentimental reasons he will not let me restock.has anyone tried to skim bed one?i already know the quality of this "thing".

I bedded my hogue stock that came with my rem 700 SA and it worked just fine. I also put an aluminum bar down the for end and covered it in devcon. I had a bucket of devcon fixing to expire so used that other wise I wouldn't have wasted it. The rifle shoots amazing for a factory barrel in a hogue over molded. Just make sure you get the recoil lug area real good as the stock from factory has a plastic ejection molding mark right were the lug bears against the stock and causes 2 separate groups if you miss it. It is a 308 and shoots less than half inch all day even in crappy weather.

I glued some pillars in mine and free floated the crap out of it. I can get 7 business cards all the way down the barrel channel under the barrel......It looks like crap but shoots well. If they would stiffen that stock up some they would probably sell. They are heavy but feel nice to carry.

I noticed that this was a over a year ago. Did the bedding hold and are you pleased overall ? I ask because my youngest is about to buy an SPS Tact, the one with the green stock & 1-10.

Worked just fine. I did eventually sell the hogue when I could afford to put a laminate stock on the rifle. Wanted the extra weight of the laminate. The hogue did hold up very well and I sold it after about 450 rounds of 308. There was non loosening or damage to the bedding at that point. The aluminum bar really helps to keep the stock from touching the barrel when on a bipod shooting from the side of a hill.

Thanks for the update, may take that route
