Thinking about working up my first "custom rifle" in 6BR for both varminting and club level benchrest competition. Are custom actions such as a BAT SV drilled and tapped on the underside and the holes spaced so as to mount with say an HS Precision stock with its metal plate, or a McMillan.
I assume the underside of the action is drilled and tapped, and possibly each maker spaces the holes as he sees fit. Then is it a matter for the gunsmith to drill the stock such that the holes align and then possibly pillar bed?
I assume a glue-in is just that...not sure I want that for a hunting rifle.
Thanks
