Scope base for custom mauser

I recently bought a custom 1909 mauser.

It's drilled and tapped for a scope base...

Problem is I have no idea what bases fit the hole pattern used.

Is there any way to figure that out?? I've been looking a while and can't turn up anything as far as measuring the holes to determine which base.

Also, the holes look pretty small to me. Anyone familiar with the 1909 and scope mounting? Is there are particular reason the Smith used really small bolts? Wonder if I should just take it to a Smith and have it drilled out to a bigger screw and he can likely determine the appropriate base while he's at it. Just wasn't sure if there was a reason such small holes were drilled and tapped. I think that was common practice till recent years we started using bigger screws.

Thanx!

Is it 3 hole or 4 hole?

The holes are 6-48 tpi

If it still has the Hump on the rear bridge and 3 holes, A military mauser 98 mount will fit. EGW makes a pretty nice one that's reasonable.

Thanx! It actually has 4 holes. It's a German manufactured 1909 action.
Go to Ken Farrell's website and you should be able to see his hole spacing for Mauser variants, But I would venture to guess that this rifle had a two piece base system on it for which any of the scope base folks like Leupold or Burris etc would have what you need.
