Beam scale prism

Can anyone recommend a prism to use with a beam scale, that can be used to read the needle without having to put my face on the table? I'm using a webcam for this purpose right now, but would like to have the option to take my setup mobile without having to take any extra electronics. The ones dandy used to make look great but are no longer made, any feedback is great appreciated.

The dandy product prism has been discontinued. One idea that might be useful would be to make a simple stand for your cell phone holding it so that the camera and screen can be used to magnify your view and eliminate parallax, which BTW the prism will not do.

Do to the lack of prisms available I have to elevate my scale to near eye level eliminating parallax, I also verify my charges on an electric scale that resolves .01 gr

Hobby Lobby has plastic prisms. I carefully drilled a short hole on each end and made a stand with some erector set pieces my son had. Put a screw through the supports into the prism. Worked good but I didn't like bending my neck down. Now I have it at eye level and use a magnifying glass and I get a better, clearer and larger image.

I take it you just like using the beam scale? Seems like an extra step if you have an electronic scale you trust more.

I opted to get two cinder blocks from the local hardware, paint them with waterproofing paint (gives a kind of rubbery texture to the surfaces, and prevents the block from "shedding" dust/pieces). One block turned onto its side turned out to work for me. Adds some stable weight for the scale as a bonus (less prone to deflection due to small bumps on your workbench)

I 2nd using the cell phone for the portable needs, get a business card/mail holder from any box store, and the phone should lay on it's side or stand up depending on the stand to hold the phone in place.

I use an old 2 level computer desk for work space/reloading in my "room", with the 505 on the upper level and use a 10" cheapo tablet in a mail sorter/holder weighted down with a $5 box of ammo. :p

I don’t trust the electric more , Yes I really do like the beam scale as they are far more reliable than the electric in my mind.
Lots of competitors throw a charge then verify or use a charge master and verify. I have a SCott Parker tuned scale that resolves one Kernel I really don’t need to verify the scale more so parallax sometimes I’ll take over the dining room where the height is slightly different than the shop etc. (I’m also a bit OCD when preparing for a long range event)

? I just put my beam scale on the shelf behind the bench. Its right at eye level, and Ive exteded the pointer and gave it a dab of I. orange. Seems simple to me.

I'm gonna have my brother make me a pedestal out of granite might even have them mill out a spot for my trickler.
Loading late in the evening, when I get my head on the bench I tend to fall asle......

I use magnifier app on an old phone I keep on my bench, I have it on my current phone too. Plus I can play music from it while loading.
