I’m considering a Bat Nuevo for a short range Benchrest build. I see they offer it in both stainless and chromoly steel. Is there an advantage one way or the other between the two?

If weight is a consideration then shop carefully. I just bought a rifle built using the Neuvo. Mine is the AL version and I can make weight for Long Range LG fairly easily. I also own a rifle I had built using a BAT B drop port. The action I ordered had the integral recoil lug up front and a machined in 20MOA scope base. The difference is weight caused by those two things and the weight gain from the drop port v. the right eject port gave me fits making LG weight (17 pounds).I’m considering a Bat Nuevo for a short range Benchrest build. I always order chrome moly for bat and all of the standard length Nuevo has always been CM. Use both Nuevo and 3L for SR benchrest. I prefer chrome moly due to less chance of gauling with a stainless steel barrel. Only downside that I see is either need to blue or coat it to prevent possible rust.I’m considering a Bat Nuevo for a short range Benchrest build. JackieAll three of my Neuvo Actions are SS with the Black Nitride coating.
I was under the impression that all Short Range Neuvo Actions were 17-4 Stainless, with Chrome Moly being special order. With Bats properRC hardness on their SS actions, there is little fear of any galling of the lugs or a barrel.
That might have changed the material protocol. Anyway, I doubt there is much difference. Both are top notch.
It seems that at Bullet Central has several Neuvos at a reduced price.
